Total commitment to the essence of this array of human experiences, yes, I know, as always with Gitlis, but I feel this urge to say something. like clapping: it's my need to make some dumb sound in presence of the higher expressions of mankind.
There is Gitlis then there is everyone else. As they used to say about Heifetz - he is in a class by himself. Bravissimo. (This concerto sounds like it might be more difficult than any Paganini concerto, but I would not know that.)
per me, la migliore esecuzione,la più emozionante di tutte quelle note (Rabin,,Perlman, Ricci..). Nessuno ha un tiro,una spinta così, un vibrato e uno stile assolutamente inconfondibile e, in tantissimi casi, perfettamente pertinente con il virtuosismo trascendentale permeato di puro lirismo e cantabilità, che contraddistinguono questi autori.
