Thank you for the compliments. Yes, I will be putting more things up. Coming soon, I will put up some things shot with Pixelvision, some with my ancient RCA tube camera (from 1983) and compare it with digital. I will be getting some Super 8MM stuff up as well with some synched up sound, so feel free to check back.
For one, sound and video quality are a bit reduced on youtube obviously. Second, use a digital sound recorder, you can get a Sony for $40.
You're going to be shocked how well it plays at home on your computer and/or projector. I am going to try the same with Super 8MM. A long time ago I actually shot Super 8mm sound, but always with the damn boom mic picking up alot of camera noise.
Then, queue up the tape right to where the sound begins and then right as the clapping commences turn on the tape. By trial and error (and if your projector has this) you can micro adjust the speed of your projector to match. OR, simply edit it digitally as I mentioned, then play just the audio on your computer while you run your projector. You can synch the tow VIDEO images!
LOL...that's pretty cool! I definitely want to try it now. I love filming and watching regular 8mm movies on my projector, but with sound it definitely is whole new experience! I really want to find a way to actually get it synched up with the projector though, if that's possible.
awesome!!

most pro spec film cameras shoot sync sound at 24fps or 25fps. on nagras..dat machines minidisc..now compact flash.
this bolex only films at 18fps wild so this is great..
the cheapest best quality sound recording device has to be minidisc.. 10-60 dollars on ebay...make sure it has recording feature.

This is great! I've done the same thing over the years with equal results. Don't sweat the sound quality - it gives it that retro feel.

Actually, you can get better results than this.

Well try this. Start the scene with a clap board, or even clapping your hands once or twice. Record the sound on a digital or type device.
