@TheLongestMile why is that sad? I'm not a Kanye fan, but it was Kanye West that flew him out to hawaii to do work on KANYE's record. And regardless of his poor attitude in the media, Kanye West is a very very good producer. If anything, that situation just shows how great Justin Vernon is
i was there, at this show, just before Bon Iver's wave crested and broke on an unsuspecting general fan-dom at large. perfectly suited to the size and atmosphere of the venue, they had the audience rapt. it was the best pairing of artist and venue this music enthusiast has ever seen. i felt this track was highlight of the set. electric. it gave me goosebumps then, and still does when i listen to and watch it now. thanks for filming this and posting.
The solo!!! I think this song is perfect with that solo, sooo much better than the album version (and that's quite a compliment.) Almost as good a version as the NPR concert.
@BrandNew23 No. I'm sick of "Indie" bands copying each other and all sounding the same. Bon Iver is different and for that reason, they are one of my favorite bands.
justin (bon iver) just mixed a new album for the group "daredevil christopher wright"....supposed to be another quality sound from this bright young man

might be a stupid question, but does he have two mics, one closer than the other, to sort of echo his voice a bit?

it's actually a way to prevent feedback. it works the same as a the phase cancellation of a humbucking pickup on an electric guitar.

His name's Justin Vernon, Bon Iver is a phonetic spelling of bon hiver (french for good winter)

I know, genius. Along with "ilovemutemath," I was mocking "BigPoeCatching." Slow on the uptake, are we?
