There's plenty of bass and guitar if you listen. Alot of the guitar work is done in the same style as Sonic Youth and My Bloody Valentine, Noisey and complimenting, It sounds great!!!!

Yes, you're right! I'm a musician, so I noticed it immediately. It's like they record Lo-fi, almost a cassette tape analog recording sound. I don't know if Ian does this on purpose just to capture that old "70's" style sound? I wish the songs were brighter sounding so I can pump them louder too without that underline distortion. Oh well... still gotta love 'em!

thanx, man. now i [unfortunately] know that its not only me. [got the songs from iTunes, and thought maybe that version was bad or something]. Anyways, yeah, their studio recordings miss that Clarity to them. i, of course, LOVE that old 70's tape sound, but, when u have to listen to these amazing songs so low in volume, then u miss alot, i think :\ i must say, i compared the sound of the original recording, to this Live show recording, and this video sounds even better in a way :\

They aren't recording this for an album. This is a recorded performance for a radio station in St. Paul, Minnesota. The radio station just happens to have an awesome studio. Actually, the studio is better than the station itself (imo).
