Every other FF ended with just about all the loose knots tied up but if there ever was a game that needed a sequel then THIS IS IT. AT 5.19 the question is who did edea gain her powers from as a child before she gained more power from ultimecia? Who is Ultimecia and what made her so hell bent on compressing time (it cant just be the persecution of witches in the future) is Rinoa related to her somehow? Does Squall ever know the truth about his parents Laguna and Raine? It needs a sequel!!!!
@BOSIE321 then it would be a pre-quel. but i rather they remake this game. better graphics and maybe an even more mean squall :P (zell should be bitchslapped at least 4 times!)
@BOSIE321 Seemed pretty self-contained. Rinoa loses her memories due to GF exposure and gets the memories Adel transferred to her -> Rinoa becomes Ultimecia -> Ultimecia works to free Adel (whom she sees as herself) before Laguna Loire seals her into the sealing chamber.
i haven't played VIII yet, but from watching some cutscenes Squall talks to Rinoa awfully similar to how Tidus talks to Yuna from X. the "don't worry, i'll find a way." type of things. except here, Rinoa acts more like Rikku from X. i know VIII came first and they always borrow, but my point is i don't understand why people (in general) act like Squall is a knight in shining armor and Tidus is just a whiny kid. Tidus grows into a leading role exactly like this, if not one of more importance.
tidus was just a whiny kid, who does develop into something bigger than himself, yes. but of more importance? relative to what?
squall possesses all the qualities of a natural born leader. he starts off cold, calculating, completing missions just for himself, to give himself a sense of purpose, to follow garden protocol and fulfill his job description. only after he meets rinoa, does he realize that everything he's learned can be applied to something much more urgent, more inspiring
The thing i didn't believe from ff8 was that squall was a cold hearted bastard, he has a big emotional wall, and then comes rinoa and 4 no reason he falls for her... they should made a more accurate reason for that. come on, I'll be you knight???? that's too corny 4 a guy like him.
@ReijiNakashi Oh come on. Why do people always need rational reasons for falling in love? I hear it all the time "that's a stupid love story, I mean give me one good reason why they should love each other." Falling in love isn't rational at all, at times it's the most stupid thing you ever do. Besides, Rinoa is opposite to Squall and practically pushes him to show his emotions. That's why they always fight at first. I find it logical that she has the power to unlock his emotional barrier
@Zazychan I think Rinoa fell in love with Squall because she thinks he's the one granted to him by wishing for a lover to a shooting star at same time Squall did the same they end up looking at each other after wishing. And that was irrational but has reason. I forgot where they mention it. I wish that they made it obvious when the actual scene happened, it's when they're at the dance hall.
Omg, I don't know if I'm slow or what but I just realised something. At the end of the game, they came back to this flower plain. Because they promised. When Squall was lost in time compression after defeating Ultemecia and couldn't think of a place to go, he thought of Rinoa and then thought of this place. While Rinoa was there already (because of LOVEEEEE). Then Squall came back to her, on this flower plain. GYAAAA!!!!! so romantic. I'm replaying FF8 right after my exams!
