@3klo what martial arts would that be? could you apply your sword training outside the dojo? are you trained for tournaments and competitions with strict rules? do these rules train you into habits that would prevent you from fighting instinctively in a real combative situation? could you take your sword skills and prove yourself a better fighter than larpers? can you actually hit people with your swords? ive seen weapons used for knife defense, and they are rubber. LARP is for fun, deal with it

Whereas these larp weapons are safe, hit someone with a metal sword, sharp or not, and you can draw blood. If that is what you enjoy, then you need help. @3klo sorry bout the double post up there, not sure what happened. But still, if the point is to have safe fun, i'd rather use latex or foam weapons than wood or metal (been there, done that. ouch.) Part of the fun for some is the immersion, and these latex weapons *look* as good as some i've seen on tv, which helps the immersion. Part of the fun for players like myself is making the weapons. They wont look realistic, but you wont find another player using the same kingslayer sword as you.
