  • Does the G1 shoot video!?, some people say it doen't but some say it do!!

  • @noobsyb0t No the G1 was the only m4/3s camera that did not shoot any form of video. All other m4/3s cameras will shoot at least 720p MJPEG HD video.

  • why is this on Full HD when the camera only records HD??

  • i have both lenses. it's unfortunate the 20mm focus is so loud.

  • is my eyes playing tricks or what??

it seems like the colour of the video is slightly better when uses 20mm lens ??

am i right? or is the same?

  • @KaNGaRooBaby910 There are color differences(Mostly in contrast) but it is up the user which one they think looks better.

  • such a good firmware for testing focus...... : )

  • hi what are the differences between the AVCHD and VGA types?

  • Is this a micro four thirds, or one of those Hybrids with a large sensor in a compact body?

  • @Carlo568 Actually yes to both of your questions. It is a very compact micro four thirds camera that happens to be excellent for video as well as stills.

  • so, is it able autofocusing on video mode? or you use a manual (handheld) focusing? thanks

  • @nipunadh It depends on the lens you are using. With the 14-45mm and 14-140mm lenses it will do continuous autofocus like a camcorder will. With the prime lenses like the 20mm pancake it will autofocus but it is not continous. You have to press the shutter button everytime you want the camera to attempt to correct the focus. That is similar to how all of the Canon DSLRs work.

  • @mpgxsvcd The Canon's re-focus while filming is absolutely horribly dreadful. It hunts and seeks all over the place before settling. It's like it needs to see the out of focus on both sides, before it discovers whether it needs to focus in or out. Absolutely rather pathetic. It's a 100% deal breaker for most consumers. People that own a T2i for instance, know it. Forget about passing the camera to the wive. Count on seeing no footage of yourself.

Woof, got that out of my system. Sorry about that

  • I was wondering, what's the file size on AVCHD when you upload it to your computer?

  • @maverick06 The AVC-HD lite files are about 90 megabytes per minute.

  • U use AVS to upscale your 720p video to 1080p? Looks good!!! THX for sharing!

  • Yes I use avs video editor to upscale to 1080p. It doesn't actually improve resolution in the upscaled file. Instead it causes youtube to allocate more bandwidth to the file since it is 1080p instead of 720p. However, the difference is slight at best.

  • THX mpgxsvcd !!!!

I have tried AVS video editor to convert 1080i AVCHD to other 1080p HD format but the quality is not acceptable! Don't know why....

  • Very good illustration of the digital zoom capability, there looks to be little pixelation or staircasing even on the 4x. Shame the pancake lens doesn't have OIS. I bought it for shallow DOF shots - will the sigma be micro fours thirds mount?

    thanks for posting

  • Hi, how did you produce these clips and did the native clips import OK? Is it Powerdirector?

  • I use AVS Video Editor. It is only about $60 for 10 very useful AVS programs. I encode to 1080p or 720p H.264 .mp4 at around 14-20 mb/sec to preserve maximum quality. Youtube handles just about any format. They will even handle the files as they come straight out of the camera. It couldnt be simpler to share these videos.

  • thanks for sharing~ i get mine on tmr~
