DrHate, Most of the"rock/pop/whatever" bands that are making millions a year today owe the Get Up Kids either directly or indirectly. Other than Jimmy Eat World, and Weezer no one has made a more direct influence to the core of the sound when it comes to refining it and making i something releasable to the mainstream.

That's my humble opinion.

I saw them play ten years ago, I know what impact they had on the 'scene.'

I just think that reunions are a bit cheesy, it's nothing more than a cash in, and I don't suppose I can blame them. At least they can get away with not playing their last two albums!

that may be dude but i doubt the get up kids are making that much money on whatever reunion this is. if i had to guess i'd have to say that they really loved playing in this band and they want to play the songs again. if you've ever been in a band (especially if you were writing the songs), they'll always hold some sort of sentimental value.

First off, many people loved the band. Many people want to see them live again. So that's most important!

Secondly many multi-platinum bands have made millions riding The Get Up Kids coat-tail. They won't cash in on the reunion, but whatever they do get they deserve.

I've played in bands as well and I understand that you come to a point where you have to move on and express yourself as an individual. Once you've moved forward with your life, you always feel sentimental for the old days.
