Perhaps it's racist to accuse others of racism with so little actual evidence.
Such practices create a stultifying and crushingly hostile political environment, where certain people cannot be criticized becauase of their racially protected status.
Such practices are almost Orwellian in their oppressiveness.
Harold Ford was not right for Tennessee - and still is not. Perhaps in thirty years or so, when everyone has Playboy coming to their door, and four divorces, he will be...
Wow, there is a link between globalization and racialization. But I won't even engage in the conversation since I'm already a moron. I'll leave you to your fury. Have a good one.
what's so ridiculous & sad -is that many Tennesseans believed that Goldsmith actually met Harold Ford at the playboy mansion & that the Texas actors were average everyday folks in Tennessee.
the ad was very convincing for the dimwitted -a modern day form of the sleazy snake-oil salesman. The producer of the video in question now works for Rudy Giuliani -big surprise?
wow...she doesn't get involved....playing a role in a political ad that demonizes another perspective sounds pretty involved to me...i fuckin' hate election year...political ads suck...plus she's a dumb bitch for that harold ford jr ad...
grimdar: u must have not even played the clip. Either she's clever for playing dum and thus avoiding additional media coverage or criticism, or she is just genuinely stupid. I find it pretty difficult to believe that she would be completely oblivious to the racial/political implications of this ad. But if she had a shred of respectable intelligience, then she would have had at least something more to say. I'm leaning towards the latter.
the only racial aspects associated with the ad were the one's anti-corker demagogues brought to it. the fact that so many progressives saw that ad and thought "miscegination!!" serves as a sort of rorchach test for where their heads are at about race. or it's an example of deliberate dishonesty. i'm leaning towards the latter.
Thanks for posting this clip! I'm not aware of this interview anywhere else.
As for the interview, it's "stupid" because the reporter never addressed the fact that Ms. Goldsmith dishonestly portrayed herself as a playboy bunny who met Congressman Ford at a playboy party. Most voters aren't aware that the people in these campaign ads are actors.
what what a ditz... she really doesn't care...
