  • Nice Disney video. Just wanted to comment. Cheers. :)

  • I was in this parade in 1979 and 1980 - I was one of the dancing mice in front of the Cinderella carriage. We were called "Rats" and I still think we were the cutest characters in the parade! Thank you for posting this!! It's great footage of the Rats!! I get choked up and teary-eyed remembering those summers, and my very last Electrical Parade in 1980.

  • how many times would you guess you've seen the parade? I've seen it about 20 x's now and it never gets old.

  • summer 2010 at the Magic Kingdom. Hope they use the original music.

  • Me too! I'm worried it'll be that re-recorded garbage they used at DCA last year....

  • @cmontheplane sadly that's what they're using. even sadder then that..the text on the drum will remain as "Disney's Electrical Parade. if they're gonna have the parade come down MAIN ST tke least they could do is change the text on the drum!

  • One of the reasons I miss the OLD music! The new soundtrack doesn't have the same vitality as the original.

  • I couldn't agree more.

  • @jdh2006 Yeah, but in my opinion, the old music and new music are both pretty good.

  • Ah I miss this! They should bring it back

  • I love the opening voice and when all the lights go out!!

  • I'm sad that the MSEP has changed...I was looking forward to possibly taking my kids to see it one day.

  • It's coming back to WDW this summer, so maybe you'll have the chance!

  • @cmontheplane Are you serious? SWEET!!! Where did you hear this?

  • Disney's BEST parade ever. Let's hope for the 40th Anniv in 2012 it's brought back into the main Disneyland park in CA. I've seen it every year since '72 and I never tire of it. It's beautiful!

  • There's some talk about using the Dreamlights version of the music for the MSEP return.

  • Actually, I emailed Disneyland and they told me there are no plans for it at this time. Let's all bug them with enough emails to actually have this done. They could also market shirts, pins etc.

  • All the times I have seen the parade I wondered how they are able to see in the dark to drive the floats and how they can get so close to the public.I know that the turtle, snail, & bumble bee floats the drivers dont spin with the float. Its on a seperate mechanism.

  • It was best on main street. That was the first place i saw it. =)

  • how bout that part with peter pan and captain hook. look at em go!

  • I never did the video to digital transfer

  • great job all around. too bad about the guy with the lightsaber, but what can you do. Since I've never been to DW, interesting to see the differences between the DL and DW versions. did you do the video to digital transfer yourself or send it out?

  • There's no difference in the DW and DL parades here because those ARE the DL parade floats. :)

  • Spectromagic is great but it pales in comparison.

  • That's true. I wish they bring it back. During the Christmas holidays,

    when the're not performing the

    Very Merry Christmas Parade of

    course. I loved it.

  • The original float though was like, 12-ish Blue Knights. The Blue Knights rocked.

  • This was the best parade ever. I only got to see it once when i was little.

    i miss it D:

  • i miss it too TT^TT

  • I'll have to check my tape but I think when then parade was in New york they had 3 people carrying the dress

  • Heck yeah! That's the business!!!!

  • I love it when everyone claps in the beginning too! I don't stop clapping! XD I want everyone to see that the same baseline runs through the whole parade, under all of the units.

  • I know! I noticed that too! Is it really THAT much more expensive to have four more people carry her train? Like, come on! That's like 12 or 16 court dancers in the Cinderella Unit. They JUST upgraded to 16 at California Adventure this year. It's inexplicable.

  • the sad thing is, the one chance I had to see this in person was in 1999, but i cant even remember it bcuz i was 7 and i feel really bad about it... but i get to go to Disneyland next year, and I have the life mission of seeing the parade that i shall fulfill! i hope they dont take it out b4 then :(

  • im sorry man but im pretty sure they took it out bcuz im pretty sure the time i went 2 see it it was the farewell edition

  • WOW! tears in my eyes too...Thank you so much...I hope someday someone at WDW will see fit to bring that back to the Magic Kingdom..where it belongs...

  • im criying ;( this was so beautiful what a good times i remember when i was a kid

  • the one seen in Paris was CA's Diamond mine.

  • Both parks DID get a anow White section at the same time however while DL had BOTH a Mine train as seen here and a diamond mine WDW opted just for the Diamond mine. that float did not stay in the WDW version long for what reason IDK

  • Apparently, it went with the WDW parade when it was moved to Disneyland Paris.

  • Just as I remember it in 1981...Moog synth music and all. Thanks for posting this!

  • Yeah, except in those days, there was no section themed to Peter Pan or Snow White.

  • Very true. Those didn't come until '85, as I understand it. This is one of the best videos of the parade I've seen, from WDW '99-'01. You even got the Electric Fanfare and opening announcement. Great job! Where exactly were you positioned mcrtnyfan?
