when i started drumming, i got a small paiste set. so now i have a 14" hihat, 16" cymbal and a 20" ride, all from the brass 101 series. the problem is, i don't like the sound the ride and the cymbal makes. does someone got tips for better types of cymbals/rides?

@duchmanforlife if you want to stick to paiste but want to keep the costs down (a bit anyway) try out the 2002's and/or the giant beats. They were and still are used by most of the top rock bands of the 70's, 80's etc and are made of B8 bronze, so should be a bit cheaper than the signatures/twenty series.

@duchmanforlife that depends on your budget. If you are prepared to shell out as much as possible, go with Paiste's signature. However each of those cymbals cost at least $300. I would suggest Paiste's Alpha series. They aren't overly expensive, and are very high-quality

I've heard him say before that he doesn't like the double bass set up. He said that it's rather difficult for him to have 2 bass drums and he also said that he feels it to be undrummerish to have 2 bass drums. I believe it was on the "Dance of Death' album, there is a song in which he did use the double bass set up and that he would NEVER use that set up again.

Paiste is the BEST !

I've been playing Paiste since the mid-1980s and I've NEVER played anything else. Paiste makes both studio & live music sound sooo much better.. (in my humble opinion at least)

I know cymbals, drums etc are a subjective choice; it's what YOU personally like. Even with how nice the Zildjian Constantinople sounds, I'll still personally find somewhere in the Paiste line a cymbal that sounds even better. Again, it's all subjective, but I love em!
