German cars are well engineered, yet they are not as safe as some french models right now. Look at the test of the '97 A4, looks a lot worse than this! As a firefighter i can say, as long as the doors still open it is a good sign! the ford f150 in comparison ist completely smahed like a beercan!!!

btw: which modern american car (not the lovely V8 muscle cars) will still run after over 200.000 km? most german cars do!

volvo is one exception for swedish cars.

american cars and swedish car are more reliable. a jeep would own audi easy in off road and to be a family car. why should i ask a policeman,they do not know everything about cars. it's mutch better if you look at the crash tests.

Hahahaha. Jeeps have of the highest roll over rate and fatality rate of any vehicle in automotive history. The Wrangler, The Liberty, The Grand Cherokee, The Renegade, they are all horrible.

Both American and Swedish are wost reliability. 4th Volvo, all have had severe issues while our BMW, Merc, and Audi's have been great. Unless it is ground clearance issue, audis will prevail offroading too, smart EDL vs simple "part/locked" jeep 4wd. Had multiple of each, Audi's will outperform jeep in the snow mud etc sorry.. Why would Jeep be good family car compared to safer, better mpg, more comfortable Audi/BMW?! Guessing you've only owned American cars or would have different outlook...

I do not think that Volvo's can be outright said to be the safest. Audi's have shown to have super strong frames sometimes beating Volvo in crash performance. And its Mercedes Benz who has delivered the world the most safety tech. One of the reasons why my family has chosen Audi many times if for safety, a family member of mine came out unscathed from an accident in one and we have full trust in the brand.

too bad your landcruiser is slower and handles like shit...... o year my volvo 740 turbo would fuck your toyota up just like this audi would aswell. a truck may look like its come off better, but like sleeevy said the forces richochet through the cabin. there also isnt really a crumple zone so you feel all the forces of the crash

i love my 2005 audi a4! considering i was rear ended today on the freeway at 50-60mph there is less damage to my car than i thought there would have been. the car that hit me was a nissan pathfinder and there was no font end left on that car. my neck is the only thing sore. LOVE MY AUDI!

these cars are like bricks these will absorb inpact and will not do much harm to the passenger and the cage around the body will act like a shield and will keep the passenger ok but still a bit hert depends on the crash really =)
