@wasted6666666666 "only certain people are allowed to watch a demonstration of physical mediumship due to the risks to the medium" I mean come on how convinient.
@TheBudhistpunk They want no 'new' people in the seance room because it is done in darkroom conditions, and it would be very disruptive if they became frightened and ran out. There is danger to the medium, as chemicals from his body are being used to form the ectoplasm. And besides, those who know the phenomenon would be much less likely to be fooled by any theatric tricks. The medium is often restrained to guard against tricks, even filling his hands with flour.
@k0smon oh my dear, if you don't believe in spirits, ghosts so they call themselves, you really should prove it to yourself like I did. Talk to them, document it, investigate, look up their obituaries. The spiritual world is very much real. they are us, they live among us. open your mind and prove it to yourself
@zandj710 OH MY, you have got it backwards! I am the first one to believe in spirits, I have been studying the afterlife for many years, and am eager to get over there ASAP ( but not suicidal). I use a book called ""Oahspe"", and highly recommend "Life in the World Unseen"" which can be downloaded from the internet. Please PM me for further.
@wasted6666666666 I myself have been having out of body experiences for 10 years and have still found no evidence these are real realities.Yet people exploit the vulnerable selling books and whatever else they can on these sujects.I find it very disturbing other humans can sink this low on such a sensative issue.
@wasted6666666666 Derren brown has no agenda. He simply understands how these people work.He exposes these people for what they are.The problem is there are many desperate and gulible people who defend these charlatons and keep them in work.Like I said if this was possible there would be videos all over the internet.
@wasted6666666666 There is no proof anywhere.I really would love this to be true but there is no evidence. With youtube and the internet it would be everywhere but it isnt.
Just liars and charlatons exploiting peoples desperate need for an afterlife.I find this to be the sickest and most evil thing any human could do.
@wasted6666666666 yes i quite agree with those points - nevertheless - if you google helen duncan ectoplasm images you will see what is blatantly a doll positioned next to her with cheese cloth stuck to her nose making it look like she is producing it. i havent come across one photo which shows anything extra ordinary. she was tested by scientists and they did not conclude she was genuine.
@wasted6666666666 people can sometimes see what they want to see.especially in darkened rooms and the photographs taken of duncan's spirit guide looks more like a paper doll in a long white gown than a spirit.
Helen Duncan was revealed as a fraud a long long long long time ago, while she still lived. That didn't stop her from continuing though because of gullible people believing in her still.
@k0smon That's not evidence. Evidence is something done under controlled forms where you set up a protocol and calculate probabilities, amount of misses and amount of "true" information. No one has ever produced results under controlled forms. No one.
@k0smon It's because you want to believe. Evidence is not something that is subjective but rather something that would convince the whole scientific community.
@mikisenx You may have 'proof' confused with 'evidence'. The scientific community has its own agenda, one in which I do not agree, and therefor do not follow its rules.
how wonderful that her story can be told for its TRUTH with such eloquence and reverence for Helen's Spirit and her attempts to help humanity through the gifts of her Spirit! Thank you for sharing this :-)
That doesn't make her any less guilty of fraud. She was indeed a fraud and there's historical evidence for this in the trial where she was convicted of fraud, too.
Oh wow, this is fantastic. What I would give to be able to talk to this man. I've often wondered why there are no longer great mediums like Leonora Piper, Eileen Garrett, Gladys Leonard. Perhaps it has something to do with our current, noisy, impatient, materialist society. I also think it might be due to a decline in the popularity of Spiritualism. Also, for whatever reason this sort of phenomena is just maddeningly elusive and seems to change over time.
There's a lot of frauds still active in physical mediumship (all "physical mediums" are frauds). David Thompson and Lincoln(Colin Fry) to name a few. Check my video about David, it's so so bad.
mikisenx:: Unable to find your video on David Thompson, but he does have a lot of supporters. Not very many materialization mediums around, are there?
Not many people who sink so low so that they use cheap magic tricks to get money from believers, you mean?
Helen Duncan was revealed as a fraud. David Thompson is a fraud. Colin Fry/Lincoln has been revealed as a fraud when the light came on and he held a "flying trumpet".
@k0smon Also - my video was removed due to a copyright claim David Thompson made on the video. The video clearly shows up stupid the people going to these seances are. They believe a man behind a couple of sheets is a materialization of a spirit. OMFG. I get so mad at people like this.
mikisenx: Would have to disagree about all physical mediums being frauds. I attended 2 seances years ago in California. Over 50 different spirits appeared each time. No chance for fraud, about 15 of us were in a bedroom of a house. Unfortunately, I never did get the medium's name.

@wasted6666666666 After looking at the pictures of duncans so call materialisation and you still think she was for real you are seriously delusional.

@mikisenx Take a look at "Britain's Psychic Challenge" for more evidence as to the reality of psychic information.

@mikisenx It is evidence to me, but not to you. You may set up whatever criteria you like to make sure you don't believe it.

@k0smon The scientific agenda is to know the world, and spirits have never been shown to be part of it.

Very interesting interviews. But who is the speaker, I'd like to know his name. I hold a great veneration for Helen Duncan.

Hi. The speaker is Alan Crossley.
