There is nothing for music that makes it completely objective unless you talk about chord progressions or something along the composure of music, like the rhythm it's in. When defining a band as a particular genre, unless the band themselves or the record label they work with classifies them as a particular genre, every association with a genre should be taken with a grain of salt.
