Just ordered all the Roth era stuff on CD, i only own the first album on CD... figured it was time to go back and relive all the glory days since the new CD is about to drop.

If the kid is 10% as good as his dad, he'll tear it up. MA's vocals are very much a part of the VH sound, but his bass playing is mediocre at best. Wolfie has a decent voice. Too bad Ed's is shot because it used to be a pretty good "middle" harmony.

Ok, if you carefully watch eddies left hand on the main riff of running with the devil, you will see that he plays that riff completely different that every single person i've ever seen play it or every single sheet music or tab i've ever read. For days I've been watching and trying to find what it is he's actually doing vs what we all think he's doing. Any one can help shine some light on it? @joshkosh95 We won't know shit till the new record comes out. I suspect, for the first time, we'll actually HEAR the basslines on Van Halen records. If the kid is 10% as good as his dad, he'll tear it up. MA's vocals are very much a part of the VH sound, but his bass playing is mediocre at best. Wolfie has a decent voice. Too bad Ed's is shot because it used to be a pretty good "middle" harmony.

Ed's playing is pretty good on this. Dave looks like a gay Elvis impersonator. As far as Dave's singing? My cat makes better noises when I step on his tail. Absolutely awful.

@BaldViking He was always a mediocre live singer. I agree that he could spice his stage routine up a bit, along with Wolfie just standing there like a lump on a log. Maybe if there are upcoming tours and new music, that might invigorate them. I'd still pay a couple Benjamins to see this group, IF THEY PUT SOME KILLER NEW SHIT OUT.

Ok, if you carefully watch eddies left hand on the main riff of running with the devil, you will see that he plays that riff completely different that every single person i've ever seen play it or every single sheet music or tab i've ever read. For days I've been watching and trying to find what it is he's actually doing vs what we all think he's doing. Any one can help shine some light on it? What is eddie doing on the that progression that we've all gotten wrong?
