  • makes me wish i owned a powerful pc.

  • i hate planet Korlus the textures there is worst in the game it bugs me as hell cuz every where else it looks much better aaaahg!

  • My PC could run this just fine, but I prefer console gaming. I like sitting on my couch playing on my 50" HDTV instead of sitting at my desk playing on a 21" screen, better graphics or not. That's just me though.

  • @rpe33 you definitely don't know about PC. You can use an HDTV as a monitor and have an Xbox360 controller and you can sit on your couch with your games and windows OS.

  • Need Help:

I have a Radeon X1900 GT and an extremely powerful processor, with Windows XP. I want to be able to play Mass Effect 2 with anti aliasing, but that is not a graphics option. I want to know how to access the control panel on my graphics card to force anti aliasing (poor anti aliasing is one of my pet peeves). Please respond if you know what to do. Thanks.

  • £4.99 on Steam right now! Absolute steal of a deal.

  • This argument must have been a long time ago considering I don't even know which comment you're referring to and I don't remember the video at all. It sounds like a pointless console war, to which my answer is it doesn't matter. I prefer PC over all consoles, but that's my opinion. You can have your opinion too, but honestly, I don't give a shit.

  • @Mog087 If you said so, i ll have to believe you. But if they are on consoles, they are not a pc exclusive. And those 2 are on consoles. The only recent game in years i know is a pcexclusive and i´d like to play is the witcher 2 and half of pc users they´ll have to change their card to play it. Most of games today are multiplatform, it´s quite logical. Even mass effect 2 looked very similar in pc and xbox360, same textures, no antialising, this guy had to rename files and tweak things to get AA.

  • @p1ngu1no The witcher 2 is a must, best looking game ive ever played.

  • @ResidentRetro Agree. That´s a game that made me feel i m missing something, but again i can´t spend in a super pc now just for 2 or 3 games i´m interested.

  • @p1ngu1no Oh yea, i agree.. though it is coming out on the 360 i think..

  • @Mog087

you'd best be joking, kid. all games are made on pc. bf3 and skyrim are releasing on consoles and pc at the same time. they're fucking multiplatform. go back to elementary school and learn what exclusive means. fucking moron...

  • @Mog087

good for you, but your point is irrelevant.

  • @Mog087

lol if you want to play console games on pc and make it look "10 times better", you'll have to pay "10 times" more than what i paid for my console. also, i don't really give a fuck how much money you could throw away to make games look better, if it has no exclusives, then it's a dead platform. there are no noteworthy pc exclusives coming out this year.

  • @ResistanceForever Unfortunately for pc players is true. It is a dead platform for many reasons, probably piracy the main one. Crytek was so pissed off with the leaked alpha of crysis that they developed crysis 2 for consoles, they thought to not publish the game on pc, they finally did it and,,,another alpha leak on to the net months before release. The industry is heading clearly to console gaming. And about look 10 times better, that´s not true. They look a bit better for the trained eye.

  • @ResistanceForever diablo 3? noteworthy in my book dude. though i do agree with what your saying.

  • I was a PC gamer for the most part until I bought a 360 in about 06 or 07. I haven't really delved back into PC gaming much (other than buying SC2 and Metro 2033) but this shit would be awesome as long as you hooked it up to at least a 40"+ TV. I have a 22" 1080p monitor for PC gaming but it just doesn't do games justice.

  • @Ponimaju That´s what i allways say, the level of inmersion you get with console-wireless controller-playing comfy on your sofa-home theatre-and 40" hd tv....you won´t get that on a pc, even if graphics are better.

  • @Ponimaju sorry i forgot to mention one game, if you like Bioware games....Dragon age! that one is worthy buyin it again for the pc even if you played on console.

  • PC games are epic Diablo and Assassins Creed are my favourites

  • Should I get Mass Effect 2 for PC? I already have it on Xbox 360 along with my Mass Effect 1 import and if I want to play it on PC I have to buy a new graphics card and RAM and I can really only get Mass Effect 2 for PC.

  • @soldierassasin Nah, mass effect 2 is a multiplatform game...you won´t get better textures or antialiasing unless you tweak the game...plus i loved how it plays on the controller. If it was another game i would say...yes. I ´m sure Batttlefield 3 is gonna look better on PC.

  • pc has no games

  • @ResistanceForever are you fucking retarded? go take a look at Steam and say that again. Excluding console EXCLUSIVE games (aka Infamous, Uncharted, ect.), PCs can play any game that a console can and then some.

  • @MrJolla11

i was wondering whether some butthurt mofo would reply to me or the asshat below me. congrats, douchebag.

  • @ResistanceForever umad bro? you know i'm right. and the asshat below you is wrong too. console are getting better and better.

  • @MrJolla11

nope, pc gaming is dead. how many exclusive games is the pc getting this year?

    oh.

  • @ResistanceForever Bloodline Champions, Chivalry: Battle for Agatha, Battlefield Play4Free, Contagion, Firefall, Red Orchestra: Heroes of Stalingrad, Tactical Intervention, Warface, A Game of Thrones: Genesis, Age of Empires: Online, Anomaly: Warzone Earth, Cities in Motion, DOTA2, Dungeons, Frozen Synapse, Men of War: Vietnam, Might and Magic: Heroes VI, Real Warfare 2: Northern Crusades, Shogun 2: Total War, Stronghold III, Trapped Dead, Tropico 4, Darkspore, Dead State, Diablo III

  • @MrJolla11 I don´t see any game of the year or nominees in that list my friend. Just look at video game awards last year. You got the the winner ME2 but you missed the other contender "Red ded redemption" a must have.

Yes, i miss 2 or 3 games, The witcher 2 and Star wars TOR. We got many GTR, trackmanias, IL-2 Sturmorviks, SIms etc on consoles...and they are not my kind of game.

Now compare that list with gears of war 3 and Batman arkham city (delayed on pc again) just what is coming right now.

  • @ResistanceForever The The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, Apox, E.Y.E., Torchlight, Earthrise, Blackstar Chronicles, Black Prophecy, Guild Wars 2, Infinity: The Quest for Earth, Rift: Planes of Telara, Star Wars: The Old Republic, Tribes Universe, Warhammer 40.000: Dark Millenniun Online, IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs Over Dover, Steel Armor: Blaze of War, GTR 3, rFactor 2, Trackmania 2, Asylum, Black Mirror 3, Gemini Rue, Syberia 3, The Sims 3, The Sims: Medieval, and Minecraft, just to name a few.

  • @MrJolla11

most of those are: not worth mentioning, not exclusive, and not coming out this year.

  • @ResistanceForever Even if that were true, which it is not, you forgot the part where PC gaming is > Console gaming. Trust me, being a console gamer, I know.

Damn PC's... Being expensive... I'll get you one day!!!

  • @ResistanceForever The Witcher 2, Minecraft, Shogun 2, Star Wars old republic and Diablo III are all high profile games WELL worth mentioning. How many exclusives is Xbox getting? Enjoy Gears of War 3 and... oh wait that's it. Wii is no better. You get Zelda and... that's it. Only PS3 has decent exclusives.

  • @Smarty4789

witcher 2 is coming to 360, minecraft isn't a game, and old republic/diablo 3 isn't coming out this year.

so you listed a fucking strategy game and... that's it. pwn and eject.

  • @ResistanceForever Don't be jealous because your console graphics suck monkey dick. With poor controls. And easy newb games.

  • @pinkirishgoatz

don't be bitter that pc has no games and require a controller for many games to be playable.

  • @ResistanceForever Bahaha oh god i hope you are trolling. Only children think consoles are superior.

  • @pinkirishgoatz

don't be so bitter, man. i'm sure i'd be pissed too if i invested hundreds of dollars on a gaming machine that has no games :(

  • @ResistanceForever I actually kinda am, I bought into the hype of the fucking wii years back :(

  • @pinkirishgoatz

lol you own a gaming pc and a wii? ouch! as if you couldn't have less games to play.

  • @ResistanceForever Well at least the pc has real games, not those newb streamlined titles like on the consoles. Have fun with your halo and cod12 lolololol

  • @pinkirishgoatz

lol real games. pc has no games period. when was the last time pc had a game worth a damn? 1/3 of starcraft 2 over a year ago? lolol.

  • @ResistanceForever I guess the other 2/3rds of it were to hard for you as you are a halofag lololol have fun jizzing over halo 6 and cod29 newb

  • @pinkirishgoatz

i guess you are too stupid to realize the other 2/3s aren't out yet lolol. have fun jizzing over no games, dickwad.

  • @ResistanceForever PC has no games? Son, what the hell have you been smoking?

  • @ResistanceForever Actually, you're on your own. I'll take PC over shitty console any day of the week, limited games or not.

  • @TetraVaalBioSecurity

you're obviously not a real gamer. go play your facebook games, kid ^_^

  • @ResistanceForever You're an idiot. That's the peak of your life right here-- being a "real gamer." Keep sucking down that Jiff, fat ass.

  • @TetraVaalBioSecurity

*drinks tears directly from the source and grows strong*

keep on crying and playing facebook games, faggot.

  • colsoles suck ass

  • Hm, same optic like my PS§ version,... I cant see differences,...

  • well my laptop is average but i find it's still more powerful than current gen consoles, so games like this, that were developed on consoles 1st tend to run awesome on it... ;)

  • damn, i thoguht i would take a look at this on pc and i have to say its much better on here than on my ps3... ;<(

  • it reminds me shepard runs like agent 47

  • Looks nice on PC, but you have to remember, this is NOT a dedicated PC game. If it was, it would look fucking insane.

  • H-H-HOLY SHIT...

  • I almost got mass a new processor and mass effect for pc...

but, I think I made the right choice by picking my cheaper and more comfortable to play option (couch with xbox 360)

I know I gave up the superior graphics but I enjoined the amazing experience anyway.

  • That is crisp. I need a job...........

  • can i play this game on windows xp service pack 3??????? HelP

  • Dude what pc specs?

  • WHATS THE PROGRAM TO FILM GAMEPLAY OF A GAME PLEASE TELL ME :))

  • @croatianboy333 FRAPS

  • @croatianboy333 fraps be warned it dose take quite a bit of your PC s power to run

  • @croatianboy333 its most likely FRAPS if you don't already know by now. its about 40 dollars

  • @SuperProformance lol nope. Not a problem at all.

  • Anybody know what movie grain is like? I saw it on options but i never actually turned it on.

  • @apocalypse359 then turn it on. durr

  • only thing pc version had different was more complex lightning and for me the story is more important than gfx, for example the dragon age origins wasn't best graphically but it was the best medieval rpg after the baldur's gate II

  • the 360 version on a proper hd tv in 1080 looks 90 percent identical. and i would say the same if you haven`t spent enough on a machine to be aqble use aa/16 aniso.

  • Yeah but some games are console based games, so they dont got AA on the pc unless you get Nhancer or something like that

  • usa fock you'sss!

    brasil rules!

  • doesnt seem any diffrence from 360 ver...

  • honestly this lks the same as the 360..... you guys can argue about it all day but thats just my opinion...im a pc and a console gamer so i get best of both worlds anyway :D

  • @nedved5000 Well, there is slightly better shadowing and lighting. Aside from that its the same.

  • What? No film grain?! Film grain makes it look so cool!

  • Im playing this with my Zotac 9800GT on Max Settings^^

  • Uploader mentioned running AA with nVidia graphics cards, but I take it it should be possible with ATi Radeon cards as well?

Also if anyone could maybe provide a link how to properly do it I'd very much appreciate it. I've heard you could use AA on ME2 but never bothered finding out how to do it, but it definitely does look much better. I know I have the rig to do it, I just want to do it now. My eyes need to orgasm some more.

  • I agree, the best quality is on PC, but X360 has nice graphics too (i've x360). But when i saw Mass Effect 2 on PC i've to say : PC kicks ass of all consoles (PS3 too).

  • Ok i have a ATI HD 4870 graphics card, 2gb ram and an amd athlon ll processor, so nothing fancy im running on max settings with a 32 bit OS and it is smooth it doesn't take much to run this game ok? lol. In other words you don't need to spend $1000 to play this game on max settings just about $500. I knew nothing about building computers and i put this thing together in a couple nights. just look up computer building guides on the internet there all over.

  • will someone help me out i have 1 1000 dollar budget and im looking to buy gaming pc laptop alienware is out the picture im gonna buy either an dell m1730 with 8800m sli ,an toshiba 18.4 qosmio with gts 360m or sager 8700m gt, or asus g71 260m,

    m1730-790

    qosmio-960

    sager-400

    asus-899

which should i buy and why?

also email me at amarioell@yahoo.com bcuz im kinda close to buying

  • Will this run mass effect max graphics

    AMD 630 Quad Core Processor

    4GB Premium Branded DDR2 Memory

ATI Radeon HD 5450 1024MB Performance Graphics

    windows 7 64-bit

also could some one explain how the RAM,The processor and the graphic card inderpendertly affect my games graphics and gameplay (I am new to pc gaming

consoles suck now no old skool games) thanks in advance

  • damn..i just used canyourunit to see if my laptop can handle this game...it failed minimum and recommened D:

  • Is this gonna lag on my Nvidia Gefore 7800? What settings should I play in? I prefer shiny things btw

  • @OmglolNarutorules You should be able to get acceptable fps if the rest of your system is up to par -- far more than just the GPU matters. Fiddle with the settings, measure FPS with FRAPS -- that's what PC gaming is about. :)

  • @OmglolNarutorules I think a 7800 should be able to handle most of this game, though theirs no way you're gonna be able to run decent anti aliasing.

  • @OmglolNarutorules Check the website "can you run it" it tests ur computer on the system req on all games

  • @300P cheers for the heads up on that website.

  • i envy you nvidia drivers :D Forcing x8 AA in Catalyst makes fps to drop from 60+ to 20+ :D

  • I'm on the exact same level and the this looks bloody amazing,

    my specs are

    ATI HD 4530-512mb

    AMD Turion M520 2.4 ghz

    4GB Ram

and it's no where near as good looking as this.

  • dude film grain is fucking great you should turn it on!

  • Anyway I can add AA for ATi cards? Or will renaming the executable to UT3 allow me to force AA in CCC still?

I get constant 60 frames (locked at 60) so I'm happy to put AA on.

  • I hate my computer for the power supply spazzing out on me...

  • the only flaw in mass effect 2 is shepard's walk. other than that the game is perfect

  • Beast Comp. Beats mine by a shit load

  • what setting do u think i should run it on?

i have: amd athlon 4000+ dual core processor nvidia geforce 7800GT 2 gb of ram windows 7 home premium

  • Comment removed

  • how much fps does your system got playing this?

  • @OSC4ndr3 i dont know how powerful your gpu is but i think yes you can.

But remember the most important thing is the gpu to run games.

  • HOLY SHIT, just shat my pant........ I played this game on the 360, should've played it on my laptop.... =(

  • wtf no load time?

or did you edit that out?

  • @OSC4ndr3 Nope, only medium.

  • @OSC4ndr3 Lol, i can play mass effect 2 all Max. (1920x1080 8xAA) and my pc is slower at you.

Mein System: Intel Core Duo E7400 2.8GHz, 2GB ram, Geforce 250GTS(1gb)

  • @RockstarGames7 omfg you gotta be joking !!!

  • @WkDLk thats Realy man not joke =)

  • @OSC4ndr3 yeah you should be able to.

  • Mass Effect 1 back and on steroids. I like it! :)

  • this game is game of the year

  • This game is one of the best games i have played, ever...

Ah, man, hope to see you around in a close future, i bet you are a busy person, but if you ever find some free time in your free time, i know there are other sites where you can find help and tweaks, but sometimes you get to know a site and feel certain trust to it...

    Until next time, take care!

  • so does this remove jagged edges and is there any decrease in performance

  • i can run that game max with my rig

    CPU: Athlon II 240 OC = 3.5ghz

    Memory: 6 gig DDR3

    Graphics: 2x EVGA GTX 275 896MB DDR3

  • i am runing it no problem 1920X1080 :)

    4gb ram

    intel i5

    5850ATI :)

  • Mass Effect 2 is 1.8 GHZ which runs smooth on all computers

  • i was expecting this game to thrash my pc to its limits but its optimized brilliantly with windows 7 64bit . quad q8200 2.33ghz , 4gb ram @1066mhz and 2x9800gt's sli'd runs with 80+fps on my machine...so glad they sent me a second 9800 by accident XD

  • Anyone know how well i can run ME2 on these settings?

    AMD Phenom X4 OC'd to 3.5ghz

    4gb RAM

Ati HD4770 OC'd to 1000mz stable (better than HD 4870)

  • I played it through on half of that (Athlon x2 3600+, 2GB RAM, HD 4830 512 MB), so you should have no problems. Have fun!:)

  • how much "heavier"is mass effect 2 on my computer compared to ME1?

  • If you can run Mass Effect decently, you should be able to run Mass Effect 2. (in fact, it performs better than ME1 if you ask me) Do bring at least a good dual core CPU though and a decent graphics card.

  • i have an above standard pc (not as good as urs but it'll definetly perform well enough if what u say is true)

  • Yea...I was shocked. Me2 > Me1 performance wise well and gameplay and everything else!

  • i think i'll upgrade my vid card soon... got an 8800GT

  • Just got the game myself, and even though some of the gameplay changes are a little questionable in my view (I did prefer the thermal system in the first game over the thermal clip system in this game, for example) I'd say so far it's at least as good as Mass Effect 1 overall. And I lost myself on ME, I'll tell you that much.

  • The gameplay kind of reminds me of knights of the old republic

  • 8:52 lmao why is she moaning?

  • And here I am with my pc running it smoothly...

...on 1024X768 with most fancy options off, no anti-aliasing and only the film grain effect on.

    2G DDR 2 ram, GeForce 8600 256.

Someone buy me a better pc D= lol

  • thy for answers

  • how good can i play it with a core 2 quad 8300, 3 gigs of ram and a geforce 9600 gt with 2048 mb???

  • Maxed out settings (with no AA) for sure at resolutions like 1440x900 and 1280x1024, 1680x1050 may be playable, too.

  • Not like he can, that's for damn sure, lol. I think you're gonna wanna upgrade from that 9600GT to a GTX260 216-core if you can afford it, that's probably one of the best upgrades I've ever done, there's a reason those cards cost so much.

  • man this kicks the 360's ass. What amazing quality on the PC. I wish i had a high end rig :-(

  • @bethbearmacethatguy too kick the ass of PS3

  • @bethbearmacethatguy

you dont need a high end rig to have a better experience on pc then 360

if u set it to 1280x720 your already playing it better then 360, cause of keyboard + mouse.

  • @bethbearmacethatguy it doesnt take a high end gaming pc. get a hd 5770 combined with an athlon ii x4 would be perfect to run this game with a budget of like 800 dollars. just sell your xbox and all your games. and your old pc you should have enough but i still dont have one tho lol

  • @bethbearmacethatguy If theres a pc game for the xbox360 the pc will always dominate in graphics no matter what at max settings.

  • @bethbearmacethatguy you dont even need anything near high-end to play mass effect 2 on maximum settings, i can play it on my GTS 250 (like 130$ only) maxed out.

  • @bethbearmacethatguy A 500$, dual core PC will play these graphics just fine ... you just need to know what you're doing when building it...

  • @ciobanica

Yep, game is already over a year old so.

My €300 PC runs on max, although not with highest resolution and aa filtering but graphics look almost identical to this.

This just looks a little bit "softer" thanks to higher res and filtering.

  • @ciobanica Easier, don't be a fuckhead and get an anti-virus

  • @ciobanica Indeed, I bought an HP mid tower for $450 AMD Anthlon II 3.0 ghz quad core (pretty good for it's price), 6GB of Ram, some very obscure motherboard (Narra 6 I think), and changed the Power supply (500W) & Graphics card to a ATI Radeon HD 6570 2 GB DDR3. The game runs at 60 fps or higher on 1080p with all the settings notched up to the limit. The game also runs decently on my 2009 256mb GeForce macbook pro (with Windows 7 installed) Although at a lower resolution and settings. But Still

  • @bethbearmacethatguy and it could be so much more if it was made for the PC and ported to the xbox but they fucked it up and did it backwards.

  • @bethbearmacethatguy actually the difference is not that big... I have the game for pc and compared it with a friend that had it on the 360..

  • which graph card?

  • Guessing Under 3D Settings>Manage 3D>Program Settings

Will list your games & you can tweak the settings in there :D

  • Comment removed

  • Can I still tweak the trilinear filter and the AF if I downloaded this from Steam?

Someone told me they don't let you do that for some reason.

  • @ahmadWR200M It works for mass effect 1 from steam im pretty sure. I dont currently have it installed so I cant double check and I dont have number 2

  • Same game, so of course it would work. Although to be honest all you need to tweak is the trilinear filter. You can easily adjust AF in the ME2 Configuration Utility.

  • I have a Core 2 Quad Q6600 and a 9800GTX. I can run the game at max. My monitor native resolution is at 1920x1200, I playe ME2 on 60 frames all the time.

I plan to mess with the gamersettings later.

Just a question at 1920x1200 resolution do you really need that much AA or do you just prefer it?

  • I think that even if there is no difference between x8 and x16, he wants to be able to max out *ALL* the settings :P

  • Did you record half size?

  • not only does this game look better than its predecessor but, because of optimization, ME2 runs so much better than ME1. nice vid!

  • True. frame rate dips was a major issue in the first game.

  • Thanks Koroush!

  • The textures on the faces look really good, can't really compare the graphics to Crysis as Crysis has fully interactive environments and full on physics so it would be like comparing COD 4's graphics to Crysis- they both look very good but Crysis obviously needs a lot more power.

The game developers still need to work on the lip synching though, hasn't changed much since the 90's lol if they could perfect that than matched with the graphics it would look very realistic

  • I must say...It looks very awesome! :D

The graphics look almost like Crysis!

  • Mark Meer (the male Shepard) has improved in this game (was really monotonous in ME1), but yeah, Jennifer Hale does a much better job. And yeah, this game is an improvement over the original in almost every way. Better voice acting, graphics even more beautiful, and the gameplay is better too. Can't wait for ME3...

  • i played it also; but i did it with a girl character; i don't understand why most guys play it with male characters.. I mean I like women, why would I want to see a man's ass in front of me while I play? :))

  • @hekasoram

That's the reasoning that i use, too.

  • @hekasoram

Very very close minded opinion...especially since the female Shepard has NO ass...but Miranda I always die when I have her in my squad. That ass is amazing

  • @TheWalrus192

still it's better than seeing a NO ass from a guy.. the voice of the female character is nice.. and even if you say it has no ass, I like the way she speaks, and her face.. and so on :)

  • I am a man. I find it hard to immerse and relate to a female character.

  • Even though the dialogue (except for romance) options are essentially the same for both the male and female characters?

  • @TheAnonymouz Dialogue doesn't matter. It's a woman on screen. I am a man. thus cant get immersed.

  • I have some stuttering problems with this game although my system specs are above the recommended.

  • @esekellega Do you see alot of artifacting? Bunch of squares in different colors? Lotsa people on the Bioware social forums are. "Being looked into"

  • Not artifacts, just some repeated micro stutterings of half a second when I'm walking on certain places like the club where you first go to talk with Aria, i don't remember the name right now, I just started to play the game few days ago.

  • Did you defrag your hard-drive? If not, do so.

  • because... say why.

  • It looks weird seeing a different Shepard talking :P Vanguard player here ^^
