  • woooooo that's siiicckkk!! XD

  • Nice Video.

Question tho - how did U get those good looking wood accents? I've bought some self-applied ones before but they did not look as good yours do.

  • @brett2100 I got them from AutoAnything. They are Sherwood brand. The color is Birdseye. Sherwood claims they are the only manufacturer that still use real wood.

  • @usbseawolf2000 thanks for the info

  • hang on.. on the drivers door.. you locked it.. then easily opened it a few seconds later.. then you locked it again.. but couldn't open it a second later.. whats the deal with that? at 1:00 through

  • @blacky897 - After 5 seconds upon locking, it'll work. The first time (at 0:45), I waited longer than 5 seconds so I was able to open it. Watch it again. :)

  • One time i got in the prius and started the car, i got out and let my buddy drive it away, except instead of the car disabling itself because the car was out of range, my buddy drove for several miles and then came back

  • Nice Prius! :)

  • interesting thanks

  • funny if he walked back and realized some kid had come up and nicked the keys :-P

  • I have two questions. If I am the driver and I give the key to a passenger because it has other keys attached to it, as the passenger walks away, the control panel warns me the key is gone. Will it then sound the alarm? Also how can I warm up the car. Can I start the car, then leave with the key while it's warming up or do I leave the key in the car and leave, or can't I warm up the car at all?

  • @dkw12002 - The alarm will not sound. The car will continue to function until you turn it off (won't be able to turn it back on). Prius doesn't really need to warm up since it stores the hot anti-freeze in a vacuum thermo bottle and release it upon the start up.

You can drive away right away gently because the gas engine will be running on a special state that provide the most heat and the least torque. HV Battery power is used for additional torque assist during this stage.

  • @usbseawolf2000 Thanks. I'll try it. I usually warm up the car so the temp is comfortable inside the car. I notice it takes the car a long time to get warm inside which probably saves fuel as well. At least in Texas the winter is short.

  • @dkw12002 - The fastest way to get the cabin warmth is to drive it. Idling Prius won't give you much heat.

  • @usbseawolf2000 Yes, makes sense. Good discussion. So far the best fuel economy I can get in town is 41 MPG which seems about right driving on "Eco" but that includes time idling with the heater on waiting at school, etc. with the recent cold snap, so I think I can do better once I can turn off the engine. I bought a 2011 Prius last week and am happy with it. One thing I keep reading is how you have to keep the car several years in order to make up the added cost. Compared to what, I wonder?

  • is your Prius a special edition? I've never seen silver handles and unique interior

  • @omgitsmadonna - I modded it. I added chrome handle cover and the woodtrim dash.

  • AHHHHHHHHHH I WANT A PRIUS.. I DON"T CARE IF IT"S GAY, OR SOMETHING, I'M A GIRL WHO IS RATIONAL AND WANTS TO SPEND LESS ON GAS AND MORE ON EVERYTHING ELSE XD

  • @chopaface The car that you drive has nothing to do with your sexuality. Some people may relate the two. The best response for such comment is: "Sorry, I don't have sex with my car".

  • @chopaface Prius is a car, not a prop for inadiquate men. I have a Prius - one of the early ones that just likes like a small Toyota saloon, and I wouldn't stop driving it if I won the lottery.

  • id rather walk up to my car and take 2 seconds to unlock it. then i'll take another 2 seconds to start my car. why would you make that feature any more simple. fuck.

  • @SuspiciousPelican If you have a lot of keys on your key ring you could get little scratches when trying to unlock your door. Or if it's dark and you can't quite see the keyhole you don't start stabbing your car. I'm not sure how it compares in a panic mode (trying to get inside and lock your doors as fast as possible). Or you stopped at 7-11 and bought some pop and a slurpee. You wouldn't have to have the bag swinging into your door or get a sticky ring on your roof as you unlock it.

  • @VekDraygun its still a waste of time bro.

  • what will happen if you turn on the car, start driving and then put the key outside of the car... or just try to turn off the car while driving buy pressing the start/stop button... will it go off or what?!

  • If you throw out the Smartkey out of the window while driving, the car will continue to work until you turn it off. You won't be able to start it up again.

If you push the Start/Stop button while driving, nothing will happen. You'll have to hold it for 3 seconds and the car will shutdown safely (cut motive power but with brake and steering assist).

If you shift into Reverse while in motion, the car will shift into Neutral -- the same if you hit the Park button.

  • tnx! i have a yaris with that system and i allways wanted to know what can happen in those kind of situation. i will buy a prius 2010 soon so i will do some reviews too, tnx again!

  • I didn't know SKS is available for Yaris in the US. I think it is available in Camry, Venza and Avalon. Prius is the least expensive car to have SKS.

  • very nice

the best explaniation I saw it ever

    THanks

  • Is this supposed to be a car or a microwave?

it beeps a million times for almost everything the driver does.

  • The beep is better than the honk every time the car locks or unlock.

  • Another feature worth noting is when you walk up to the Prius with the Smart key in your pocket, the car's interior lights will turn on even before you unlock the doors.

  • Very Cool!!

  • @bollefinn The best thing is the cost of the car is only $24k with $3k tax credit.

2010 Prius also come with the Smartkey as standard for the driver's door only and it starts at $22k.

  • thats so cool
