  • I never heard of that movie before, but all the actors and just everything was great and authentic and I liked it from the beginning. The opening scene - awesome <3

  • I saw the movie last night for the first time. I have never seen a more honest, authentic movie representing a segment of life. I did not realize that it was not a documentary until I googled it. Kudos to the director, and Glen and Marketa for a brilliant job.

  • "If I'm crap, you must fire me". lol

  • I am seeing Swell Season tonight!!!

I am so stoked!! I'm about to jump out of my skin!!!!

  • I saw the Swell Season a couple of days ago! it was great ^^

  • haha yea, I love Glen! I havent seen any other musician who is so down to earth. Very genuine and truely loves what he does. I adore him and I really cant believe anyone calling him "arrogant".

  • an amazing film. everyone should see it if they get chance. is it on DVD yet?

  • yes, it is now out on dvd

  • Ironic that Hansard, a guy known for being arrogant and pretentious is cast in a humble yet charming film like this!

  • I've met Glen a few times and he was really sound. He speaks from the heart and maybe that makes some people uncomfortable but he is genuine

  • he's known to tell his audience to "shut the fuck up" and "we'll be the band, you be the audience" is another classic!

  • Did you put Cavan as your name to suggest the view held since Jonathon Swift's time of "The mean Cavan..." which may be not fair to the people of Cavan but seems appropriate for you here.

  • I don't think he's arrogant. I mean, of course, I don't know him, but I've seen several interviews and he doesn't seem arrongant at all. Maybe sometimes he's way too sincere and this might seem arrogance, but I don't think it is.

  • Thank you John, Glen, and Marketa for making a genuine little masterpiece. And not so incidentally, thank you to the Sundance audience that recognized the beauty and artistry.

  • Saw it today at a little art house, indie cinema nearby. What a kick ass movie. Emotionally had me early, early on. Had to do research to find out more about the songwriter/singer. Great music.

    The girl is amazing.

  • This is the best film I have ever seen. And The Swell Season has quickly become my favourite ever album.

  • Glen and Marketa are awesome!I heard them perform on World Cafe today and it was really great. It should be archived on the NPR site soon, look it up, it is really good!

  • The film "Once" is both simply brilliant and brilliantly simple. Can't get "Falling Slowly" out of my head. Hard to believe that Marketa Irglove is only 19 years old. I fell quickly in love with her the moment she appeared on the screen. This movie screams out for a sequel. I suggest it be called "Twice."

  • This Indie film deserves major kudos...it's got heart, it's got soul and beautiful music...Glen and Mar are so real you feel like a voyeur in a snapshot of their lives....go see it!

  • We are at internet! We don't have to pay for that kind of media!

    Speak serious!

  • Does anyone knows where to download this movie?!

  • seriously, dont download it. it deserves to earn money.

  • the hole on glen's guiter is getting larger!! i think i'm gonna go see this movie for the 4th time. yeah, it's worth it. not that i'm ever gonna see die hard 4...

  • I've seen this three times now. It's amazing!! Everything about it was perfectly conceived and executed! It's the kind of movie that really affects and stays with you for a long time afterward--definitely not something that happens often these days.

  • The movie hits theatres in Germany on July 5th 2007.

  • Saw the movie in Dallas this afternoon with my 16 year old daughter. What a lovely, lovely film! Just a wonderful way to spend a couple of hours with a loved one. Please go out and support this movie. Amidst all the shlock that is the Pirates & Spiderman franchises comes along this little gem. Just loved it.

  • Hey now, do we really need to knock on the big franchises to appreciate the little gems? If it weren't for the "big guys", maaaybe the little ones wouldn't seem as special, ya know? I'm just saying...it's late. Yes, I agree with you, this is the loveliest little film I've seen in a quite while...since Spiderman 3. :P

  • if you don't live in america or ireland does anyone now how to see it? really want too

  • This is such a great movie. Probably the best one that I've seen in some time. I definately urge anyone who hasn't seen it yet to do so.

  • This was amazing. I can't wait to see it again. And bring all my friends to see it too.

  • Ah yeah, that's who he is. I thought he was Colm's bro or something in one of the Frames early videos. Same kinda face or something.

  • can't wait to see this!

  • Really wanna see this film. Reviews say its amazing.
