  • wow, this is a very helpful visual; thanks a lot!!

  • @mensacyclist sugar could be a metabolic poison if u eat to much of it! Still in moderation sugar is ok cause the brain needs it. Nearly all foods have some sort of sugar.

  • @PlayerBAbyOG Yeah, I remember I once drank significantly unhealthy amounts of Mountain Dew many years ago, and I weighed 230 lbs. (I now weigh only 162 lbs. and am 6' 3"). While I had many other bad habits such as way too much junk food in general and relative lack of exercise, the soda pop was a big part. About seven years ago, I finally decided I was fed up with those habits and went off soda pop cold turkey, along with limiting my treats to just one per day.

  • @rpmangin To continue, just that year alone, my weight crashed to 175 lbs. Talk about sugar calories having an impact! Fortunately, I guess I proved it works both ways.

  • @rpmangin I agree natural sugars in fruits are obviously healthier, just it's almost impossible to avoid sugar it's in most foods.. Just got to limit the intake

  • @PlayerBAbyOG You could avoid all refined sugar if you cooked all your own food from scratch and bought all-natural ingredients for all your recipes, but that's completely unrealistic.

  • Hey the brain needs sugar! Everybody needs sugar to function

  • @PlayerBAbyOG True, but I've heard the natural sugar in fruits and non-starchy vegetables is enough for your brain to function. Not to mention, your body can convert proteins and fats to glucose if it needs it.

  • @PlayerBAbyOG Like most people you apparently confuse sugar (the ingredient) with sugarS (the slang term for monsaccharides and disaccharides). No one "needs" sugar. In fact it is metabolic poison.

  • no AFFENCE but,if you so healthy why? are your arms the size of a house

  • thank you really cool=)

  • Sugar is poison. Sugar is a drug. Sugar use costs the world's economies TRILLIONS of dollars each year. As Americans continue to eat eat more and more sugar with each passing year Diabetes will soon become the number one killer. Unfortunately people w/ diabetes suck down tremendous amounts of money as they linger on for years before eventually dying. The crazy part is that type II diabetes is AVOIDABLE in most cases. It's a disease of abuse......sugar abuse.

  • @mensacyclist Unfortunately, as long as the world is on processed foods, sugar will be completely unavoidable. If sugar were considered dangerous enough to be banned, you'd see lots of processed foods taken off the market, food prices would skyrocket even more than they are already, and 90% of the world's population would starve to death. The very calories that are hanging the health of many people are the same very calories that made much of the world's population possible.

  • @rpmangin What are you talking about? Are you claiming that sugar is what is keeping the third world alive? 3rd world populations actually eat foods far closer to nature's plan than we do in more advanced societies. You also imply that sugar is cheap calories.....it's not. Sugar may appear cheap if you only look at what it costs you in grocery store. Add up all the damage it does and it starts to look pretty expensive. Foods like rice and beans are dirt cheap and are quality foods.

  • This was very interesting and informative information that everyone should know about, thank you for posting this up.

  • That was my point. A lot of people think they eat healthy, but they don't, if they are not aware of fat and sugar content of the product they consume. Breathe, smile and be happy.

  • No more Halloween for me.

  • Exactly! Or try healthier choices, there are always alternatives. Breathe, smile and be happy.
