This is a sad case of going to the wrong hip in order to subdue a suspect.

You can see the officer put his hands to his face after the shot in an instinctual "Oh shit" moment.

By his resigning from work today that only brings more personal guilt on his shoulders. This guy is going to need therapy and the city is going to change policies, review training and write a monumental check to some survivors.
