Here are all the problems with it:  1) Instead of using gasoline it's using coal-generated electricity for a home, which is still a fossil fuel. 2) That battery is going to wear out within 4 years and need replacing. 3) It's almost entirely made of plastic. 4) It's a Nissan, and Nissan is known for not knowing how to make a decent reliable car.

Because they are dumb and think that a crappy complex design is a better way to promote a new technology.

Also, if they make a good one, everyone will want to buy and they'll be in deep trouble because they don't actually have the technology resources yet to deliver millions every year. Along with the price, it's the factor that helps them to slowly put some cars out there to some (rich/bad taste) people be the "lab rats" in long term feedback and give them some publicity.
