  • "Must be lonely up there, with your head up in the clouds.

Even though you got there. What does your conscience tell you now?"

    "Life remembers everything you do

Your karma has caught up with you"

    Just fantastic

  • this song gives me the chills but i still love it!

  • The main thing that's made this band so great above all...is Aaron's great song writing abilities.

  • This song breaks my heart every single time I hear it. It doesn't matter if I'm in a good place, great mood, smiling... suddenly, I hear it and my heart just sinks because I think of a time where I played this on repeat because it reflected where I was and who I am. That's the mark of a good song and a good band. <3 Staind.

  • NOBODY, AND I MEAN NOBODY COMPARE'S TO Aaron LEWIS !!!!!!

  • @onebadasskitty Oh yeah. ;)

  • 6 people fell.

  • @JLA12301985 hes a good vocalist but definitely not the best in history sorry

  • @aintitfun21 Of course their were good vocalists before his time, like Elvis but he's got one of the greatest voice's of the mid 90's & today.

  • I remember the day this came out, I went out and got it. Listened to the whole album up til this song. I played it three times back to back because I thought it sounded so badass...and it still does. Love this song

  • best staind song ever. bass tone is fuckin huge

  • 6 people need to get their head out of their ass......

  • love this cd

  • i feel like this song was wrote about my dad

  • This Reminds me of my ex-girlfriend....damn

  • @Constantdoodle For some reason me too...Oh well, hope she's happy somewhere.

  • Anyone who is a fan of Staind and can relate to their sincere and heartfelt lyrics about the world must check out the band Hurt. You won't regret it, I promise.

  • Aaron lewis. amen.

  • Now i question what ya gonna do now that eveything is caught up with you. You believe the the shit you say is true! but everybody is on to you!!! This line describes my ex wife. Hell this song is about her

  • This song is perfect for your loved one that is a drug addict or just fucked up mentally. The song describes perfectly how all it feels to deal with seeing your loved one like this

  • the line bass is angry !!!! love this song ! GODNESS !

  • i <3 thiss soooong <3<3<3

  • I dont know what happened to Staind after their first 2 albums, but they just are not the same. First 2 albums were great, but almost everything after is pretty terrible. We all know that Aaron Lewis is a great singer, but you don't have to sacrifice great music just to show off your vocal chops.

  • @MizerisMoney have you heard there new song? its pretty legit and i'm not talking about the country song

  • @tylertheguitardude no I haven't. really have not paid too much attention to what staind is doing now a days, but if they have some good songs on a new album I will try to give it a listen.

  • @MizerisMoney i heard it on the radio its a new single i think called not again

  • it's very rare for me to say that i love every song on an album, but i love every song on this album, this being #1

  • I remember buying this cd, definitely a better then great buy. The music is very much like what I hope to write and perform some day.

  • life remembers everything you do

  • @daniellowry1 unfortunately yes it does

  • 14 shades of Grey 2 me was Stainds last great album...didnt really like Chapter V or The Illusion Of Progress they r Ok though...

  • it's my favourite song, when i feel sad i listen to this song and all my problems disappear, por un rato...jeje

  • "Got your fingers burned by burning candles at both ends and the tables turn and now your demons are your friends"......Thats a kick ass part of the song!...over all this whole song is good!

  • @MACOBRE666 definately :D

  • the best song ever by them

  • why is there a dislike button?

  • i mean the lead singer has some vocales man

  • @infectionbow if he ever plays a solo set where ever you live. go see it. he is so amazing solo. i wasn in awe the whole time i was there

  • @infectionbow his name is Aaron Lewis, that's a name you'll want to remember cause he's going down in history as best vocalist, a lot of people dislike him but me & millions of others love his music.

  • @JLA12301985 Amen brother \m/

  • @JLA12301985 Personally he's the reason why I became a musician, he's my hero

  • the lead singer has some vacales man

  • Love this song. This song, and "reality" take me back to the days when I was escaping reality. I wasn't using a particularly hard drug, but using any substance to escape reality is all part of the same concept. If they produce more albums, I think they should make songs about , "wow, I'm here. I actually made it." and "Wow, look at who I am/what I've done/What I've accomplished/You can love ME??". "So far away"-type songs.

  • i remember everything you do...

  • but everyone is on to me

  • i love this song too ^^

i whised there were a life video from aarons solo part ;_; like (search aaron Lewis life - fill me up)

  • My favorite Staind song.

  • aaron lewis is the best lyricist that I have ever listened to

  • most criminally underrated album in recent memory. Every song on this album is a landmark in lyrical brilliance. AARON LEWIS FUCKING ROCKS

  • @lambda360 we need some thumbs ups here

  • I signed this song for my ASL class.. :D

  • @39YJD wow....wow nice.

  • didn't like it at first when i bought the album, but when i sat down to TRY and ENJOY it once more, it grew on me. like most albums that i buy. this song, is definitely a ringer for me.

  • I got this album the day it came out - May 21st, 2003, (I think) going on seven years ago now - and when I heard this song for the first time I was like that's fuckin' badass, I remember I listened to this song several times in a row to absorb its awesomeness :D

  • @novembre8211 Jeez has it really been that long?!

I remember when Break the Cycle came out when I was 10, I think. Of coarse I didn't care much for the lyrics at that age. But ever since then, Staind has been my favorite band! 9 years.

  • staind is so much better than creed ever could have been1111

  • @myaangeline what are you kidding? no Staind song will ever come close to Mark Tremontis riffs :O

  • @yanki87 I DISAGREE!!!!!

  • @yanki87 mark tremonti is a great player but who cares whos better

  • @yanki87 and show me a scott snapp vocal that can even compare to aarons soul and passion in his voice

  • @staindforlife1 maybe myles kennedy?

  • favorite song love it

  • rhis song so reminds me of my brother

  • I agree vvv they are bad to listen to when ure depressed but they are sooooo good.

  • @VELandHPR i disagree they helped me alot when ive been depressed cause it made me feel like i wasnt the only one going through it. felt like someone else understood what i was going through

  • @DeekenKrossIBW yeah it does help sometimes, but when yur at yur "breaking point" than it could crush yu with the right words.. yah pickin up what im layin downn? lol

  • Definitely best band ever! Staind

  • best band ever

  • 100th rating

  • I say this sort of preemptively, but... happy January, everyone, and a three-puppet salute to you!

Yeah, that's basically what this song conveys to me. A good, hearty three-puppet salute.

  • amazing song ♥

  • I remember hearing them play this song when I saw them in concert, and since I was kinda new to their music, I immediately had to go find it! Such an amazing track! :D

  • chorus]

it's never the same on the way down

how does it feel when your feet finally hit the ground?

when all of your bridges aren't around

and the sandcastles you built are falling down

you had us all sitting right there in your hand

but you had to fall because that's how this life is

got your fingers burned by burning candles at both ends

now the table's turned and now your demons are you freinds

  • what's happened to you?

    it's obvious you've changed

something deep inside you is probably to blame

must be lonely up there with your head up in the clouds

even though you got there what does your conscience tell you now?

  • Whatever happened to these guys after this album?

  • This Song Brings Back memories

  • The only bad thing about Staind music is I can honestly not say which is my favorite song, they're all too amazing

  • You've got that right dude. It's even hard to pick my favorite album. Right now, it would probably have to be 14SOG.

  • I understand exactly what you are saying.

  • Awesome this is my 2nd favorite song off of 14 shades of gray. Best is blow Away

  • Comment removed

  • This is my favorite of their songs. And my number one theme song. Explains things so well.

  • listening to it again...lol

  • This is my favorite Staind song. In it I hear the hurt, the anger and fear-the lyrics are just so "Face reality"...I love this song

  • wow i think the same exact thing!

  • @7cakemomma5 the most songs of Staind are facing the realty I think there´s no person in the world who can´t identify at least with one of Aaron´s lyrics!

  • I think Chapter V was better than 14 shades of grey in my opinion. I think the album had more variety of both the soft sound of 14 shades of grey, and the hardcore element of Dysfunction.

  • Kind of reminds me of... me? Sad, but true. Kickass song, though.

  • This is one of my favorite songs ever!!! The lyrics are very great!!!!

  • oops, I mean, "u" know, not us

  • lol i think us works better

  • Great song. Describes people a lot of us know, or, maybe yourself.

  • wow hearing this song (and many other songs by staind) really takes me back, memories and feelings

  • this was the cd when staind really started changing

  • use to listen to this song when i broke with an x gf wat a bitch

  • beautiful...

  • swizeeet!!

  • favorite staind song, lyrics are great

  • my favorite staind album.great song!

  • I agree with you on that but believe is more of a song of hope in my opinion, but I see your point that the pace seems depressing, but yeah this song is so much more intense then believe.

  • this band is fucking awesome and anyone who isults this album is an ass-fuck. best band ever, great fucking song, great fucking album, and...GREAT FUCKING BAND! PERIOD.

  • Amen bro u got that right

  • @godsmiter666 Very much agreed, dude, This and Break the Cycle.

  • @godsmiter666 Praise the lord hallelujah amen to that

  • this song is special. i am from the caribbean, and this ong is like worhisp to alot of ppl who are enjoying the sun. this song fucking rocks. big up lucia.!!!

  • I think u have lost your mind you'd better listen to the songs a little more close.

  • Easily Staind's most underrated song. The lyrics are fantastic, Aaron's vocals are just amazing.

  • "whats happened to you it's obvious you've change something deep inside you is probably to blame" GENIUS PURE GENIUS LYRICS I love Staind so much for doing what they do

  • wow, this is the first time I've ever heard this Staind song... it's pretty fuckin' awesome.

(in case you're wondering, I don't own the 14 Shades of Grey album)

  • 14 sog ist the best album of staind because it have songs on it like "intro" and "blow away" ;)
