I got a pair of those things on my 1971 International pickup truck. Beautiful exhaust note, especially with a V8. When you have one on each exhaust manifold, it sounds like twin inline four engines.
i recently put glasspacks on my 96 p71 and they sound amazing after i gutted the cats for better airflow. They sounded even better once i installed a cold air intake.
got 24" thrush magnum glasspacks on my 98p71 with megaphone tips. when the car warms up it's loud, but not unbearable and sounds a lot better than slowmasters. in my opinion the magnaflows sound weak on these cars, have not heard bassani. if money's no object i'd go Borla Xr-1 or Spintechs. just for the record, thrush glasspacks sound much better than Cherrybombs, i've been watching a lot of videos.
O ok, I'm convinced now. Everyone has their own opinion and I've heard nothing but good things about the Glasspacks except the fact that they're pretty loud (autozone employee). The muffler size is 2" inlet, 2" outlet and center/off-set right? I hate to ask you so much questions but do you hear a drone?
Sorry about the delayed response. It has been awhile since this vid and the Glasspacks have been broken in quite a bit. They sound better and a lil louder then the day of this vid. Yes there is a drone under accel, but once you get to your cruising speed you hear nothing. The drone, either way, is minimal. I researched the hell out of this mod before doing it, and I'll tell you that if youre on a budget, and want something that sounds great, but doesnt break the bank, then this is what you want
Hey, i've been trying to figure out what muffler i should go with, Glasspacks, Flowmasters, Bassani,or Magnaflow. I have a 98 P71 and I love the way the Glasspacks sound but I heard that they're very very loud. Flowmasters sound good too but they have a "drone/buzzing" noise and i've been told to stay away from that. This shit is too confusing!
I had the opportunity to have the Glasspacks installed for free, so thats the route I took. I have all stock piping, still have the cats, and just replaced the mufflers with Glasspacks, and put the weld-on chrome tips on it. It sounds loud when you are in a garage, obviously, however you can barely hear it when driving down the road, even at WOT. If you are looking for a cash saving, awesome sounding, muffler, I suggest the Glasspacks, which only get loud when you remove the cats.
I have a 93 p71 with a 5 speed manual with 2 flow-masters and I kept the h pipe and it sounds great

I don't care too much for the thug attitude from reading the headline, but yes, the exhaust on your Crown Vic sounds great.

Check out Dynomax Race Bullets. I think that for the money they sound the best and WILL always outflow a "Flowmaster".
