  • "If I would have known, how things would have ended up, I just would have let myself die.."

  • hahaha laughed so much when i saw that guy.

agaist me are still the best.

going to see them in november!

  • incredible voice

  • This is easily the best version of this song on youtube

  • hell yeaH! play it fast

  • The lead guitarist should have a few songs where he sings lead vox, hes got great vocals.

  • hahaha that guy who tried to jump up is retarded

it shouldn't have been that hard to get up...

  • about the guy that got dragged away, security guards are mostly dicks, but getting pulled off stage is because of the venue or place being played not the bands orders

  • if you look, andrew tries to pull him up on stage.

  • @psychoXbilly nah dude, its not like that was the band's personal security guard pulling the guy away. at this particular show the people who run it have paid security to make sure people cant go onto the stage and fuck shit up. its not up to the band if people can do that shit or not. i'm sure if it were some bar show there'd be almost no security, and you could jump up on stage with ease.

  • 1964 wat da

    tom wasnt alive den

or waz he DA DA DA

  • goddamnit for the 100the fucking time. this song is not about tom

  • his grandmother

  • Bands sellout, that is how it is and how it always has been. If the music they make after wards is good then listen to it if you don't think it is then don't listen to it. Simple as that. Maybe they actually wanted to try a different musical direction without doing side projects? If you are a musician then you love music and want to try different styles out, but all you calling them sellouts aren't musicians so you wouldn't know.

  • heheh. tom's hair.

    i love this song. :D

  • i guess it just depends on whether you care more about music and a sporadic lifestyle or... money br00t

  • honestly, i'd rather have a secure living...call me a sellout ;p

i wouldn't lose any sleep over it while i live in my multi-million dollar house...

  • well you are a sellout and that contradicts the punk rock lifestyle... and if youre cool with a love for money then thats your own thing, but not all people think that way and you should understand that. personally i dont consider myself a "money grubbing scum fuck" to quote jello biafra... and id prefer a sporadic life with music playing as large a role as possible, i may be on a computer but i didnt go out of my way to get it and id be happy without it... to each his own

  • these elitists are all hypocrites...

i'd defy ANY of them to not take the money, fame, and success offered with a major label. none of them would say "sorry, but i'm not going to take the loads and loads of money you're willing to throw at me, as well as funding my next tour and album production...all because you are a major label"

  • You have to be there to really make that decision. saying it is alot easier than turning down millions of dollars.

  • Awesome, but I prefer acoustic version.

  • Seeing them live in a week.

They better play this damn song.

  • pints of mountain dew make against me strong

  • i fuckin love you.

if your a boy, no homo

if your a girl, have my babies

  • Crowd should've rioted and killed the security guard. The times, they have changed.

  • I certainly agree. The Against Me of old is long gone and all we have left are the old records and occasional encore performances.

  • security guard men is fuckin wanker, let live people to go on stage and dancing and singing with band!!!

  • Great song!

  • Gah, I watch this video like 8 times a day at least hahahah

    Tom's hair is so crazy!!!

this is by far the greatest Against Me! song. ever.

  • i wish thing where like the good ol days but now everyone has to sign onto a major label...its a good band and all but wtf yuh know? whys it always about money when it should be about havin a good time

  • exactly!!

    its so ridiculous,

but we'll have to see what

they have in store for us in

the future i guess. at least they

still play some old songs at shows.

  • should be able to make a living off music too. can't do that on fat wreck chords.

  • i'm sure you can make a living on fat wreck chords. i see videos from bands on fat on tv all the time, of course not as frequently as the other shit but it still gets played daily.

  • except if you are called NoFX. lol

  • you can make a living off music on fat! maybe not a mtv superstar living, but at least you aren't selling out

  • It's very true. Especially if you're Against Me! Whose last album on Fat outsold the last NOFX record.

  • I love against me! but if you are a band and a major record deal comes your way you are going to say, "no, I dont want your money I dont want my music to be spread further among the world.." I have been to their shows since they have signed, they are still the same, the still rock house

  • FUCKING CHRIST THEM SIGNING IS NO BIG DEAL. MONEY IS ALWAYS A GOOD THING, AND YOU WOULD DO IT AS WELL, TO SPREAD THE MESSAGE, TO SHARE THE WEALTH, AND TO BETTER YOUR LIFE. that being said..they really are still one of the nations greatest products.

  • Money is fine. The new songs blow. That sucks. I haven't seen them live since the new shit, so maybe they still rule on stage, but the new songs are crap. They lack the old energy.

  • I'm gonna have to say I agree. Not nearly as aggressive. Very watered down. And yeah, if they didn't have the label backing them up, would they ever be able to support all the tours that they do? Not possible as an independent group (as oxymoronic as that expression sounds). They're on tour for almost 9 months a year now.

  • They have changed though. It's not so much them getting signed as their sound getting a bit more bland and mainstream. They've also changed their ideals, like this rock the vote thing. I believe in everyone voting, but didn't they criticize "Believing in the ballot" and the elephant and jackass back on Reinventing Axl Rose? I odn't personally dislike their new stuff (Not as good as the old) but I can see where people are coming from when they call them sell-outs.

  • i dont think you get it.

baby im anarchist is a joke. i dont think tom gabel throws bricks at starbucks windows or burns down buildings. seriously, there not hypocritical.

  • What are you just plain stupid?

The song is about the 1999 WTO riots in Seattle.

  • It's not a joke!

It is about the 1999 WTO Riots in Seattle!

Jeez what is wrong with people.

  • its not written seriously, as in tom being the anarchist. your a dumbass if you think tom was alive in 1936.

  • He's not singing about himself in the song he is singing from the point of view of some of the people involved in the riots. Why are people so fuckin stupid? Answer me that why are you so fuckin stupid?

  • ... i hope ypu get hit by a fucking bus

  • Because I proved you wrong? Because you are to stupid to understand the meaning of songs?

  • no because your a jackass

  • Because of my jackass? Dude I don't have a Donkey.

  • oh good one

  • jesus that was harsh

  • arguments on youtube? seriously goddamnit just listen to the music and have a good time. fucking scenesters

  • @GoWhereEaglesDare hahahahahahahahahah xD you're dumb. :D

  • yeah i agree

they still play the old songs

i saw them at warped it was old songs

with 3 or 4 new ones

the ocean thrash unreal and stop were the new ones i think

  • yaa i agree they dont tlka about like the whole politicxal view or like war or none of tht which is wat i like from the old stuff.new wave is good but mayb the only political/war would b white people for peace

  • Try listening to the album again over half the songs are about politics and war, but hey some people just don't understand when it isn't straight forward that is where a true punk shines.

  • they opened with this last year when I saw them, the whole venue exploded it was amazing, I didn't stop smiling all night.

  • this is #1 AM! song. oh my goodness, its so lyrically emotional and powerfull. only if new wave was like reinventing. this is like the greenday situation

  • AGRRED

it's somewhat like the Green Day situation.

But Against Me! used to sing about Anarchist views, and now they're signed to a major corporate label....anybody else see the problem?

  • yeah man thats a problem dude....like seriously man kinda ticks this dude off....man what happened to real punk doncha know?

  • i really wish new wave had more meaning in the lyrics like you said. Its a good record, just not a good against me record

  • If i ever become a rock star i'm not gonna have security. What use is it when they're unaccessible, beyond the musical sense?

If i wer a rock star i'd fuckin WANT to rock out with my fans. security ftl

  • the security wasn't up to them because it was one set in the middle of a full day of bands on one stage.

after the show, warren was just standing around outside the fence to the backstage area and my cousin and i talked to him for a while and he introduced us to the rest of the guys. i don't think they were all that concerned with security.

p.s. that was possibly the best day of my life.

  • It's really hard for me to accept that the band that wrote Pints of Guinness also wrote the songs on New Wave. That's a crime.

There's maybe three songs that have 2/3 of the lyrical punch this song does.

  • I agree that New Wave was really disappointing. For me, each record was a little less rad. I liked their older, raw sound. Everything became more and more cleaned up and fine tuned and that's not what I like about Against Me!

  • i have never seen against me live before!!!! I'M SO JEALOUS!!!! I want to cry

  • Pretty good shit. I think the first time I saw them was in Prague...but I was on a lot of drugs at the time.

  • i hate security, asshole wouldn't let the kid on stage

  • Wicked vid, too bad their new album wasn't such a success.

  • Are you being sarcastic? Their new album is huge.

  • it sucks tho.. their older stuff is so much better

  • Yeah, I like it, but it's definitely no Reinventing.

  • huge if you mean a huge pile of garbage

  • AGREED

  • i saw them at in ohio

  • good show good show, anyone know what kind of guitar tom uses here?

  • it's a rickenbacker. nice one, too!

  • it seemed to be his guitar of choice since the eternal cowboy came out.

  • @unibowler - a bit nice for an anarchist.

  • This is definnatlly one of my fave live versions that I've seen. Save for being there.

    Great vid!

  • the security guy is ghay.

  • I was at this show, fucking drunks everywhere, great show though.

Some douche bags decided it would be fun to throw beer bottles, so they threw a couple at the stage & one at the crowd.

  • hey man i was standing next to that fucknut that was throwing bottles, you will be happy to know he got an elbow in his mouth for it.

  • heroes

  • great fuckin' vid. i'll masturbate to this later... :D

  • At 1:27...

    Andrew: "Dude! Grab my hand!"

  • did you see him? he was like 2 inches from grabbing it. something only against me! could pull off

  • to advance that statement, i saw them with mastodon a coupla weeks ago. it was killa

  • o dude was that at the avalon in boston? i was there

  • This video is from Austin, Texas.

  • great video, just saw them a few days ago and upped a video with 7 or 8 more to come, fucking rights, they opnened the shopw w/ pints of guinness
