  • is this song about jim jones and his colony? im Just wondering.

  • @Ryanyarb24

It's based off of Franz Kofka's short story ("Colony"), as well as taking elements from Ian's failing marriage.

  • @Rigler01 No, this was Malvern Winter Gardens.

  • @LARECTORY

No, it wasn't. It was Bournemouth.

  • @NintendoSegaSonyGuy Yep, you're right. Means I wasn't there after all.

  • I have looked everywhere on the internet for this live track and still can't find it, would you mind sending me the downloading link for this track please?

  • @ObeliskL10 youtube - mp3 org

  • Wow - I was at this gig. A very special night.

  • @LARECTORY

The Winter Gardens.... does this mean the Bournemouth winter gardens? If so, I wish I'd been a few years older! I can't even think where the stage would have been?!

  • otherworldly

  • I like every song by Joy Division except Isolation *my bad guys * But this is one of the heaviest songs I ever heard. I just wish that they wouldn't have took the live footage of this song. There is another one but with bad quality, oh well, Still a BEAST band. Probably the best thing that came out of the 70's.

  • @Kento617 It is a shame that there is no video footage, but keep in mind that in the late 70's, video cameras were new & very expensive. Especially in poverty stricken 70's Manchester.

  • @AgentXPQ oh dang you're right. It was basically hell over there. Factory buildings falling everywhere, smog filled skies, you wouldn't think something that good like Joy Division would come out of there. MTV came out a year or so after their demise so they missed it just barely. I wish I could have saw them live

  • It's too easy to see their influence everywhere in rock music 30 years later.

  • @kvic2011 I know right. They influenced me greatly! If Ian wouldn't have died before the american tour, they would have taken over America!

  • @kvic2011 especially interpol.

  • joy division is la mejor banda de manchester de 1977

  • Truly the beest live version of this song. I love the acoustics and the way it echoes like their playing in some deep tunnel.

  • @Jarrodboy Yeah man. Colony and Shadowplay are their best live songs!

  • This is a nightmare where a voice guides us to freedom, la voz de un poeta...

  • @alexandro1011 This godly immortal voice!

  • a eternal WOW for this alternative evergreen

  • the best version of the best song from the most powerfully original band in the world

  • At least I can say for sure there is no version in existence more drenched in despair than this one. Joy Division's best song? Well, it's sure gaining my personal interest more and more, yes:-D!
