So I wanted to Thank u for that..!

    Thumbs Up!

  • Found this for 199.99 refurbished from woot.com and im in the market for one and money is tight good buy correct?

  • Does the conversion software also includes an cyberlink editing program? Because that would be great !

  • @snipeshade Yes ... it comes with editing software

  • Very well done. I am also having trouble converting video footage from it's original format to you tube or Facebook. Can you recommend a web page or instruction material for computer illiterate dummies?. Thanks for your time.

  • Still shots come up brilliantly, check facebook page Perth Poetry Club, I have loaded heaps of photos in their gallery. But how do you upload the videos, the software has me stuffed, it just doesn't seem to want to do that I ask. Using HP Dv6 laptop. Love the camera.

  • the screw handle mount with what looks like a shoe for lighting or mic, where are they available.

  • @VinHeffernan I get most of my stuff from B&H Photo in New York by mail order -- but many photo stores will carry it, or order it for you.

  • how do you get the video on you tube or facebook?

  • @VinHeffernan Just save to an uploadable format for HD and YouTube ... ie720p in WMV or MOV, translated via your Cyberlink or similar editing software or conversion software... and then uploaded in the usual manner. You can't upload the 'native' raw TOD (MPEG) or MTS AVCHD) file types from JVC cameras.... which is the burden of this camera. Must be converted to other file types like WMV or MOV for YouTube.

  • where is the wide angle lense available, shps in australia want 400 dollars plus!

  • @VinHeffernan This is the RAYNOX HD-6600PRO 0.66X WIDE ANGLE 55MM 52MM 58MM LENS by Digital Innovations -- I think I bought it on Amazon, but it is available elsewhere and for $120+ US. It has minimal distortion, but takes sharpness down a notch -- not very noticeable. Made for consumer HD cams. Canon and Sony make one too. Jim

  • This camcorder is very bad i just did a video explaining why. I bought it and a few months later the sensor broke down without prior notice. Check my page to see the diference how at first the videos where great and check the latest to see what happens with these cameras. ¡1000 dollars down the drain!

  • Well done a very good review. You should look into doing a few more. p.s. what is the benefit of using a wide angle lens? Will it distort the picture?

  • @BobbysNutz The reason a lot of people like wide angle lens is that they can get up in close to people talking and get good audio.

  • Thanks. Wide angle lens is especially useful in tight quarters, and scenics - most anywhere, esp. high-def for interviews to see more than a pretty face. But adding glass can reduce sharpness slightly, and a poor one can cause image distortion or shoot-thru masking. You get what you pay for.too. Jim

  • good vid mate..

  • lots of good info here

  • will this fit an opteka baby death fisheye lens?

  • yes , thats what iam getting for christmas - you will need a 42mm lens for this model . :)

  • this is THE best camcorder i have ever used ..........

  • I am a filmaker and i abolutley love this comcorder with the wide angle lens. would you recoment this camera to me?

  • P.S what model number is the lens, just so I no it is correct? is it the RAYNOX DCR-6600PRO WIDE ANGLE 0.66X? thanks.

  • would i be able to import the files from this camera on to sony vegas movie studio?

  • I can import it into vegas. You should be able to import it. Check out buying conversion software also.

  • good choice with the Raynox wide lens 0.66x

  • whats up with the audio on this video??????

  • This has been a really informative video. Thanks.

  • I want this camera but the footage seems very laggy?

  • I first assumed you were a noob and didn't realize the lag would be due to download, not the video itself. But then I realized that even after I paused it to let it download first, it still had a problem playing. Not sure what the deal is with that. Trouble decompressing or decoding maybe??

  • trust me i have this camera it is THE best

  • Yes, and no. The Cyberlink software does not do pure conversions alone ... it handles editing chores of both AVCHD and MPEG2, in SD or BD formats. A complete editing suite. Then save it out to most any format you select... ie .AVI, or disk VOB, or MOV, MPG, etc. But to do a direct conversion from the .TOD MPEG2 files to .AVI for example, would require something like Alive HD Video Converter.

  • Great review. Very helpful.

  • Can you convert the AVCHD or MPEG2 videos using cyberlink?

  • This should help a lot of potential buyers.

    Brian
