its ok but to me the 5.7 350 is fastest and last longer i have a 96 suburban and actually the 350s look better thats just me the 3 best motors are 1st fords 5.4 triton 2nd chevys 5.7 350 and last dodge chrysler and jeeps 5.7 hemi my suburban 0 to 60 in 9 secs this is a 06 truck 0 to 60 in 10 to 11 secs my truck has more weight but that 350 is way faster then this 5.3 vortec right here

that really did look slow. I'm a huge chevy fan, and I wasn't going to say that, but I can't help it. It is what it is. I'm guessing you have a 3.42 gear or maybe a 3.23 in the rear? Better mpg but horrible acceleration. Swap it for the 3.73 or 4.10 you will be happy

depends very largely on the rear end ratio. 3.73 is what you want. Look in the glove box, read the codes. If it says GU6, that's a 3.42, a GT4 is a 3.73, those are the 2 most common. G80 is for locking rear differential, which is superior to Fords or Dodges. They're great vehicles, hope you like it

also depends on which v8...there was a 4.8 and a 5.3. You will get slightly better mpg with the 4.8 but the 5.3 has more power. Either are good, but I hope you have the 5.3, they're more loveable

Thats more than an comparable Bronco II or s-10 Blazer could say, and my 4runner has the shitty 3vze engine in it. Chevy and Fords of that time had to deal with many more problems. GM learned aerly on that DOHC was better, but didnt upgrade anything to it.

And the argument was for the 5.7 I-force, not some little 6 banger. Personally I don't care for the s10 or Bronco II, and your 4-runner may be the best suv out there, but does it have the 5.7...most likely not.
