  • If their is no replacement for displacement how come contemporary muscle cars are making more power out of less cubic centimeters and copycating variable valve timing as well as many other international engineered designs and "imported" parts? I mean by those standards lets go back to pre 70's gas crisis and have 4 gear 5.2L cars making 200whp to the wheels (230 bhp)! Then at the end of the day you can pay through your taxes your appreciation for your "domestic love"

  • It is funny to read all the hate from the domestic guys. The way I see it anyone can go out and buy a car stock that is already fast. No real challenge in that, you dump enough fuel into an engine your gonna get power. Without imports paving the way for efficiency numbers and value their would still be 4.0L V8's barely breaking 200whp to the wheels. But to tune a car that is seen as economical or otherwise inline 4 with under 3.0L 30mpg highway miles making 189whp to the wheels stock...

  • @klnford Everyone has their preference and some don't have the luxury of buying those "real" cars yet. A person who drives a 400whp civic will pay LESS in insurance than one who drives a vette Z06 with the same amount of power. That is one of the main reasons, an alternative.

  • @klnford All engines can be tuned and modified to produce extreme numbers of horsepower. However it is easier, safer, and cheaper to start off with a bigger engine. A bigger engine makes the power safer without taking away from performance, can handle more with less modifications. And it is a very true statement, it doesn't mean however it is the only way to make power, just the easiest, safest and cheapest....So I guess that means you're lazy or stupid, a bitch, and broke. Good luck with that.

Second the base model of a G8 sure its debatable that it isnt a hi perfomance machine, but a GXP model is WHOLE different ball park , the GXP is a LS3 6.2 V8 that creates 415HP 415LB of torque, while the 03 "shitstang" SVT supercharged 4.6 V8 producing 390HP and 390 lb of torque. And as for the firebird as much as i love pontiacs (God bless their engines :D lol) they cant compare to the G8 GXP.

  • @Manano09 a k20 can make upwards of 800hp when built right with the right turbo application.ive seen stock svt shitstangs pull 400-410rwhp not to mention the WHOLE different ballpark of weight between the two, a GXP is very heavy especially in comparison to those three vehicles and has less end performance potential than all three of vehicles..thats all im saying. yes stock for stock a GXP will take a RSX type s.But it would get destroyed by any 300+ hp RSX its just power to weight.

I use to hate domestics, but started to like them once I realized it's only a majority of the uneducated owners that I hate. But, if you want to get technical about investing money, how much did the government invest into domestics to keep them from going history?

This vehicle cost around 8,000 now, put 8,000 on top of the initial cost, and we're talking about a quick car for around 16,000. On top of that man, its an Acura, that means it's quality and reliability added to the machine make it a less repairable car, less frequently. I still love american muscle, but why hate on tuners?

  • I don't hate tuners, i just cant stand the owners. Ive walked plenty with my old NA 402 stroked LS1. They talk loads of shit before, then after you dust them, they claim they have a boost leak, missed a gear, or they say you have twice the displacement and they have more power per cylinder, even when there running 25+psi of boost and I'm NA. Even had a few "VTEC never kicked in". That's why I hate tuners. I have nothing against the cars, its the drivers, and trust me there all the same.
