For a beginer and somthing mid size would be any gramostilia and brachypelma but if you want somthing intresting try a pink zebra they are amazing show t's and they are very docile and hardy at fairly good price. Mind you I have a gramostilia rosea my first spider and it turned out to be very agressive and it makes my king baboon look like a kitten I don't know wh lol.

lol about the Ts that fill their water bowls w sub!  I have one like that too, you know how some people (out of their damn minds) put a sponge in the w bowl? To keep the T from emerging itself? Well I have found that putting little pebbles or decorative stones in the h2o bowl helps, and my T doesn't put dirt in there anymore! lol I guess he just liked to have something other than water in there lol funny little personalities

I personally don't care for them....just keep in  mind if you decide to get one that they tend to be fairly aggressive and have a nasty bite!!

Cool. I had this one neighbor I thought was crazy. She had one tarantula (no that's not why I thought she's crazy) and in the future she wanted to construct one of the rooms to be for a tarantula species that created a mud hill for a nest. She wanted a room filled with mud for one tarantula (and sorry I don't remember what she called it). I never heard of anything like that...

but hey, you should consider rufilatas too. very "compatible" also. my colony with 5 rufilatas works great. they´re getting big so fast.

BUT if you totally wanna freak me out (positively) take p. tigrinawesselis for your project. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!! :D
