@himhh nah, she had a dry spell for much of the 70s. I would say about mid-60s(after Goldfinger) to mid-70s she had a dry spell. She came back in time for her TV show, and dropped out in the 80s, and came back in the 90s.
I thought her dry spell was over with her hit album Something and the successfull releases Something else and Never Never Never and And i love you so after that....She was very successfull throughout the whole seventies.
@himhh - The 70's was one of Shirley Bassey's biggest decades for music recordings. During this decade she recorded ten full LP's, not including several live LP's. Starting with her 1970 Something LP, every Album reaching between a top 5 to a top 40 spot, with several going platinum, (Silver) via the UK system. Her LP dry spell was during the late 60's, but when you have golden pipes like Bassey, it's more a matter of changing the material to record, and that's what she did to great success.
I was actually thinking about an old movie (40 years now) & kind of humming the theme's tune. Thought I'd check for it, found it & a bonus song here.
It was beautiful! Thank you!

two breathtaking songs. Amazing to think this was during her "dry spell" in showbiz. Even when she's down, she's still the best!

@Thorneycroft1937 I think her comeback was brief in that period. I have a very vague memory of what I saw in one of her docs anyway.

Rosanna: You are very correct. The 70's was one of Shirley's biggest and most properous decades for recording music. See my note below to himhh..
