  • if there is a Heaven this is what it sounds like

  • I'm right there with you...

  • The ''question' is not whether heaven is or is not. The fact for me is that it is right now the everpresent condicion that lies behond all phenomena. Just surrender to it or something because you are heaven.

  • This reminds me of a love I had and lost which still burns within me nearly three years later, she was I have no doubt the one true love of my life and yet I threw it away....and never a day goes by that I don't think of her and painfully regret the day I lost my love.

  • i know how you feel i lost the love of my life 7 years ago what sad is time doesnt help as i thought it would but hey life goes on

  • its a song about loss, and im in that boat too mate.

  • @AllanJ64, having such regret shows great self-compassion... all good. One thing that I've learned, however, is that while reflection may be 20-20, it is also quite forgiving and forgetful. Something to perhaps ease the pain... in that past context, in the moments as you lived them, you acted on them to the best of your awareness and outlook at the time... you were behaving and feeling to the best of your ability given that former self, true in the moment, it was the -best- -you- could do.

  • Actually that poses an interesting question... because if at any given moment you can only do things in a certain manner, then you are conditioned to act that way by your past and present conditions and therefore are not free to choose...

  • Precisely, kind of. I call it "trajectory within context". *Normally*, our past and current context create a nearly inescapable pathway forward. It takes great will and imagination to break free to vary by more than mere fractions. And *normally* we are too caught up in ourselves (our past experiences) and our present (current context) to realize that strong alternative actions are available. BUT, once you become aware of your trajectory, imagination and will (bravery) allow drastic alterations.

  • Just beautiful

  • im using this for my wedding

  • Consolation , peaceful, restful.

  • Anyone heard whether or not he's going to put the full opera together? I heard he was going to, but nothing so far...

  • Once you hear this you will get LSS - Last Song Syndrome.... Hahaha! The melody will keep playing in your head...

  • to me its just the nutzzzz

  • One of the most beautiful pieces of music. Superb.

  • Almost hard to believe that this has been produced in our age rather than one of the classically romantic eras

  • That's the beauty of great composers for you =)

  • so has patrick cassidy ever been lauded?

  • This music captures the essence of renaissance Florence the most beautiful city in the world.

  • beutiful music

  • 美しいですね

  • @SATOMI005 そのとおりだ。とてもきれいな曲ですね :D 天使の声で歌っていると思う。

  • Patrick Cassidy si je ne me trompe pas!

  • who composed this?

  • Patrick Cassidy

  • This sonnet/orchestral piece makes me cry each time I hear it. It also gives me complete and total body chills. There is something surreal about it, and I hope to never forget that there are people who love to the extent of the passion in the lyrics and tones in this piece.

  • Yes, it is very moving,It evokes, for me both the finiteness of human love, and a very poignant, to me, presence of a member of my family, who isn't, physically here with us, any more. With the certainty, expressed through this beautiful aria, that there is a unity, in love, that transcends death.

  • L'une des plus belles mélodies que j'ai écouter. C'est si triste surtout quand elle est utilisée dans Kingdom of Heaven à la mort du Roi!

  • Beautiful, reminds me of Florence.Grazie.

  • I really relished watching the film Hannibal.

And this part of the film where the music is played is one of the best scene ever.

  • Based on the sonnet "A ciascun'alma presa" from Dante's "La Vita Nuova". Dante would surely approve.

Thanks and bravos to Patrick Cassidy - composer, producer; Hans Zimmer - producer; Danielle de Niese - soprano as Beatrice; Bruno Lazzaretti - tenor as Dante; Libera / Lyndhurst Orchestrathe, conducted by Gavin Greenaway - choir and orchestra.

The word is that Patrick Cassidy was so overwhelmed and surprised with the arias reception that he is working on a complete opera in the same style.

  • Thank you very much for this! Please leave this comment with those who are putting pictures of the crucified Christ to this music. Bloody idiots.

  • LOL, MageSutek! Feel free to copy/paste.

I'm not religious minded, maybe "spiritual" in the NON-eternal "I exist as long as I'm breathing" sense. But I've learned to accept that others are free to interpret for themselves.

The beauty of this aria is that it transcends beyond language and meaning into "being". Its beauty is eternal. For the moments we "connect" with it we share its eternity. I can see how some might associate it with what they believe to be eternal and beautiful.

  • To me this music is spiritual and not at all religious.

It helps me to realise how small we humans are in this universe, but also helps to connect to it.

  • A melody that really gets stuck in your brain!

as BigMTBrain just explained this is not sacral music. just because its in latin! doesnt make it sacral music.

and further this is not a "aria" an aria is a one voice piece with music on it!

This is a duetto between a baryton and a soprano. with orchestra and choir!

    =D

  • @monkiemike. I'm fairly new to opera. How right you are. Thanks for the correction. :)

  • So many beautiful. This music is of a perfection lirique incredible. With Gabriel Fauré's requiem. The idea of the death becomes almost sweet in the spirit there.

  • WOW! trully amazing

  • So, So Beautiful.

  • Da occhi umidamente chiusi..

  • Merveilleux, je retrouve Berlioz. Magnifique !

  • this song reminds me of "O Mio Babbino Caro" by Maria Callas

  • meraviglioso, semplicemente meraviglioso

  • Quite simply, the most beautiful piece of music ever written. My eyes fill with tears and I get goosebumps every time I hear it. I believe this version features the vocals of Danielle De Niese And Bruno Lazzaretti. Katherine Jenkins has also done a wonderful rendition of Vide Cor Meum.

  • U've got the artists correct. Used in one of the Hannibal-movies, the 2nd one i believe..

  • si dios existe estoy más cerca que nunca de él en este momento

  • Listening to this music makes to understand what does the word "beauty" mean.

  • you said it!

  • this piece is the best, wonderful

  • ITALIAN/LATIN Chorus: E pensando di lei Mi sopragiunse uno soave sonno Ego dominus tuus Vide cor tuum E d'esto core ardendo Cor tuum (Chorus: Lei paventosa) Umilmente pascea. Appresso gir lo ne vedea piangendo. La letizia si convertia In amarissimo pianto Io sono in pace Cor meum Io sono in pace Vide cor meum
  • can you please translate into english for a dumb american??

  • And thinking of her, Sweet sleep overcame me.

I am your master. See your heart, and of this burning heart, your heart Humbly eats.

Weeping, I saw him then depart from me. Joy is converted to bitterest tears. I am in peace, My heart. I am in peace, see my heart.

  • My favorite piece, eternity forever...

  • this song is exquisite, beautifully relaxing

  • He sido transportado al cielo con esta pieza musical

  • Dios Santo... he visto angeles al escucharla.

  • This song is so wunder-wunderfull. I feel home.

  • @Princessportent:American Beauty Meets Hannbal. Vide Cor Meum: See (in) my heart, the love that gives life.

  • i have been in that building, the frescos up close are really wonderful

  • Really? Can you tell me where they are at?

  • Florence Italy, highly recommend the week before easter, there are 2-3 concerts a night in Florence and Firesole.

  • Inside the duomo in Florence, if i'm not mistaken.

  • I think you are right. Looks like it to me - Santa Maria del Fiore! Exquisite building. Sublime. And the music is so beautiful too... *can't take all the beauty*

  • i love this version of this song. very beautiful.
