I recall the noise stopping at a certain point during the night, so yes, I did get some sleep (aside from the fact that we were too exhausted exploring the other parts of Yangshuo)...Your email sounded like you had been there...Yangshuo is a lovely, charming place, pretty much like the backpacker atmosphere in Kathmandu during its heydey. Wasn't it kind of loud there at night? Did you get any sleep? Just two streets over and its much quieter.
