@Kinkseraph Actually, it is both. Poker is a skill game, but it is also gambling. A good poker player tries to maximize his overall expectation with each decision he makes. In the long run, a the player that makes the correct decisions will win and the player who makes bad ones will lose, but there is still luck involved.
USA poker addicts can still play online and get awesome rakeback deal by going to wwwlockpoker35com....i've played and gotten rakeback every day since they shut down stars by going to wwwlockpoker35com
People kept thinking they can win from poker, its no different from sports gambling. 5% of overall players win and it can be permanent or temporary depending on the gambler himself. Inside 5% some people can be shipped out by turning into losers and new players transferred into the winners group. One day the winner has to quit to turn into real winner. Also, the rake is perpetual so in event of both players who even out on bets but had lost wealth.
@Baddieko winners keep winning and losers keep bringing in more money that covers the rake...it's true that a small pct of players are lifelong winners, i think its closer to 10-12% than 5%...but those winners continue to win and win...you should get in on the action go to wwwlockpoker35com
If you lose money playing Texas Hold'em or Omaha online is because you have no idea how the game works, you are really stupid with your bankroll managment and you make alot of bad bad decisions.
I started with 10$ playing no-limit hold'em in the lowest stakes (.01 and .02c) in PokerStars and so far i made 350$ in 3 months... im not saying that im rich or that i am some sort of expert or something like that, all you need to be a winner playing online poker is discipline and bankroll managment.
this cracks me up, I've been in you're position, done well from very little. Give it time and you will plummet like the innevitable fact that is you cannot win when you choose to gamble, it's a short term gain. watch and tell me how much you have in a year, don't reply until then.
@pL0n 3 months of online shite for 300 bucks, you probably used 5 bucks a day in electricity bill, thats 140 bucks a month x 3 month is 420 bucks,,,,,so much for your account management gob shite,
You actually think that i only have the 10$ of PokerStars to pay everything...? really? I have a work and i play poker for fun and for extra money you moron.
@pL0n your the moron,I didnt say you have $10?I said you have sat through stacks of boring 1cent to 2 cent games hour after hour, you blab about bank management,I said it probs cost you more in electric bill than what you have won.I wouldn't bother plugging the computer in the wall for a 1 cent game you bin dipper.
You people have to try out that texas holdem bot i discovered. It operates on a variety of different sites, and it is 100% free. Check it out at freepokerbotXnet (replace X with . ) !
Very few people win in online poker. There are millions of people losing money and destroying thier lives because of Internet poker sites myself included. Who even knows if these sites are giving you a fair deal. All you can do is hope that they are there is not a shred of evidence that these games can't be rigged except poker sites claim that it isn't in thier interest to rig games based on rake they get on daily and yearly basis. Look at ultimate bet and absolute poker.
Hi everyone im a degenerate gambling scumbag. please could someone in close proximity get a baseball bat and smash my skull with all your might repeatedly, and keep doing it until im dead. even if i start crying to stop, keep smashing my skull until im fucking dead. scum like me needs to be beaten to death with a baseball bat heck if i could step outside myself i would get a bat myself and smash my own skull i am scum if u want to meet a self-proclaimed scumbag thats me
Whats sick about this argument here is... In Australia we have these stupid mobile phone ads that cost $4 per txt for your chance to win $100,000!!! In small print at the bottem it says for ages 14+
Wtf this is gambling from the lounge and you only have to be 14? That goes unnoticed ??
I'm an online poker player I lost $50 the first few months I played. I refilled and I'm now probly $400+ with my bankroll strategy. Why is this such a big deal? Why should I lose my freedom to do what I enjoy.
I will be the first to admit that I have a gambling problem sometimes.. I use to play pokie machines " Slots" and lost big money on them monsters!!! As any professional will tell you once a problem gambler you always have that temptation...I can now play a few hrs a week with very low risk...I can play a 10c game that sometimes last for hrs..where as at a club/casino I can lose 10c minimum per second.
There simple isn't any 10c live poker games who would bother?
What is it? something like 40-50% of the U.S. economy comes from casinos? That to me is the real problem... Are polliticians doing anything about that?? No. So why online poker "Americans game" because they arn't getting a slice from it.
@MrBurgermon did the same thn got greeeeddy as FUCK. it shouldnt be illegal u should be able to do whatever the fuck u want. just know that all of the pro poker players are faggots. gl on the tables
Online gaming is a terrible disease, like any form of gambling. We need more awareness sites.People are going bankrupt, commiting suicide, losing they're homes/families EVERYTHING.A very small group of people are the ones profiting from this gambling and it is mostly the sites themselves. Its sad how many people want the ban lifted, but I guarentee you these very people are the ones who are losing and suffer addiction. You may win alot one day,but will never equal what you have lost. It kills people.
Please site a source that claims a suicide was the result of online poker.
Although 90%+ players are loosing long-term, most people who profit from online poker are players, not the websites.
I should be allowed to do what I want in my own home, so long as it's not hurting anyone else. You'll say that families are hurt financially by one man - I say that it was a poor investment on both sides.
Freedom of choice is what is at stake here. Not life and death.
@kingcharlesfunksquid yeah gus hansen lost his millions winnings from poker tournaments online or outside gambling and another professional player (i forget who) cannot pay his house mortgage. Their main income still comes from advertising poker sites to lure gullible teens from tv shows. Its a good thing they are living in monaco able to leech off welfare benefits. Everything looks rosy.
@darkchron totol and utter bollocks, every poker site has a casino added to it in the knowledge at least 70% of poker players if not more will use that casino ,they win a poker game then visit the casino, usually slot machines, and guess what it takes your poker winnings,so what do you do ,,make another deposit, dont kid yourself, they have it well rigged up.if you believe they make no little money you are a fool.
@ciggyface Shut your face idiot and read again what i write. Pokerstars, Fulltilt etc does NOT have a casino and is NOT a casino, it is a pokersite. These sites does not make money off losses and wins, they make money from the rake that is a little part of every pot that is played, regardless of who's the winner of that pot. They make money off people that are playing on the sites and not the loosers. I am a winning poker player and you sir are a fool!
@nbsbb2009 actually, gambling is defined as wagering money with the expectation of gaining money on an event that is uncertain. However, you can gamble in the long run on events where you are guaranteed to have an edge over your fellow bettors. On each event you are gambling, but in the long run you know you will win.
ie... gambling on sports where you have done statistical analysis and opponent has not. You will win in the long run if he continues to bet with you for eternity.
Im gonna break up with my bf because games, poker, bets. im tired of him yelling at pc. shit live with someone like that.
