when the helicopter flashes it's light over the far side of the bridge, it stops ((from what i can see)) on the area in the middle like where the two columns connect holding the bridge up, and what i see is something move across the top of it, like running from right to left, I can't tell to well, it looks like a person, but what would someone be doing all the way up there? if I could just get a closer and cleaner look, i may be able to discern a bit more, but for now,I got nothing.

movies are movies, what you see is what you get. there is no hidden this and that. there'd be no point having a secret 2nd monster if it never played a visible role, unless they had already planned a sequel before releasing the first movie

i swear they are different monsters.. one has like a flat jaw with no teeth

and the other has a weird shaped mouth with more teeth

@TheOmalley666 No. Just...just no. This is one of the flimsiest arguments I've ever heard for two monsters. Just because Clover looks slightly different with its mouth open doesn't make it an entirely different monster, especially because every single other detail is the exact same as the shot of Clover when it's thinking of eating Hud. The breath sacks on his head, the long and spindly arms, the eyes, everything. That's like saying a person is someone else when they're yawning.

Again, just because Clover looks different with its mouth open doesn't mean there are two monsters, especially when every other trait matches perfectly. Clover is a creature with an anatomy that is almost fully unknown. There is no reason to think it wouldn't be able to open its mouth that wide to appear threatening and try to scare away attackers, or that it wouldn't need to to eat large prey.

@TheOmalley666 Also, if you're really not convinced, play the part where it stomps out over the army and roars in slow motion. Right before it roars its mouth is only partly open and its head retains, almost exactly, the shape it had when about to eat Hud.

and i dunno im convinced there's 2 because when the bridge collapses, in the background a helicopter shines its spotlight for a split second on something way on the other side of the bridge thats moving, and it just makes sense because the people are running away from whats on the other side not the other monster

It's not a second monster, it is, in fact, the bridge. Bridges don't always fall straight down after an impact like that, suspension bridges in particular. They need to be designed for flexibility in order to cope with high winds, earthquakes, and handle the weight of their daily load. If a suspension bridge breaks from a heavy impact like that, a plane crash lets say, then a wave effect like the one shown here can happen. It's kind of like breaking a taught rope with a fast downward cut.

@yungmoney922 Again, that "crawling away" is the collapse of the bridge. Excluding Clover's parasites there is no second monster. The thing that appears to be creeping away is a mixture of concrete dust being kicked into the air by the crumbling structure, the masonry from the support strut itself crumbling away, and the steel suspension cables whipping around as they snap out of place. It's also the most major point of damage so it makes sense the chopper would focus there to see if people live

people are saying that the helicoptor light is following the same monster but you can tell that they're searching the water and lower bridge first and then they cut quickly to the top of the bridge like they're surprised by something. i believe there is definitely another creature

i wanna kno wat would've happened if the military didn't get so hostile on the monster at first and tried to be its friend? I mean going against a monster like that is going to be hard to do+ its only an infant. The fact that its a baby can really help with another cloverfield, the mom of the monster could come and look for its baby unless its like the shark and just doesn't care about her child.

I think it's the same "one" monster because if you notice, when the big tail crushes the bridge apart, the helicopter's "light" follows the monster under the bridge, so with the "light" the helicopter follows the monster under the bridge and then the monster pops out in the end of the bridge from under...so i think its only one monster

@jorrogboe I think that by the time the monster crushes the bridge with it's tail at 1:01 and the helicopter is pointing the light under the bridge until it pops out in back of the bridge in 1:14 . there was plenty of time for the monster to crawl under the bridge and come out in the back end of the bridge...just stare at the helicopter's light from 1:10 to 1:14 , it does look that the helicopter's light is on target (monster) following it right under the bridge until it pops out in the back end

Do you find it odd how no military was there when Hud was eaten? they were worrying about the other monster they just bombed. the helicopter they were in couldn't of landed anywhere near that monster

@Dodge5278 Well when the monster knocked the helicopter down,i dont think the monster was dying, it was just a little wounded because remember,the monster was getting hit by ever weapon the military had in hand since he first appeared,yet he WOULD groan and stuff but they proved ineffective.just like when he got hit by the missile,it looked like he died but that wasn't the case because it eventually knocked the helicopter down..i dont know if the helicopter crash in the city or outside of it but

@Dodge5278 So this is my conclusion.1) The reason why there were no military when the monster ate hud was because the monster is enormous and it giant steps get him to a place easier...where as the military with it normal "human speed" takes time to follow the monster...2) if there WERE another monster, the military would of already seen it from the air and have a second military unit follow the second monster, because they wouldn't just be worried about one monster, why?

Back in the old days, or something, the Golden Gate Bridge (or another bridge) went up and down in the wind. If the bridge gets smacked on one end, it would make a pulse wave like that, so it would go up and down. But that thing in the vid that you say is a 2nd monster looks a different color than the bridge (or at least seems like it), and it the 'up' part seems to be up for too long, but idk

Don't forget how large the monster is. Like during the scene where they bomb it with the stealth jet. That was a perfect view of the scale of the monster. Not to mention whatever that was on or behind the collumns looked small. Maybe the little spider things perhaps?

well the reason why it WOULD be going up is probably because of the way the tail hit the bridge so you know if you hit something in a weird kinda way it would probably be going up and THEN down, plus maybe the reason why people were running out of their cars is because they were out of gas or something like that

No its just one monster. I had to sit and think about it for a sec myself. At this point the monsters is coming up from under the bridge. The time frame between the tail smash and seeing the monster again is too great. The creature had more then enough time to maneuver itself into that position. More then 10sec went past from the time the tail connected with the bridge. That is enough time for it to circle back under the bridge and burst upwards from under it.
