I studied russian language while in the army, used to collect various AK rifles, love russian weaponry, so ingenious, yet so to-the-point. That's why I loved that game so much, get to use AKM, AK-74, AKSU, SVD, Vintorez, etc.

its a very compact assault riffle chambered for 9x39mm ammo. Its called SR-3"Vikhr" or 9A91 im not really sure
