Great playing, great technique, but it lacks musicality.......there's a difference between playing a piece, playing a piece right, and playing a piece expressively......there's no expression behind the piece.......but GREAT PLAYING......

i'm not trying to be a bitch here or anything, but let's be honest. everyone (especially girls these young) could stand to improve their tone and expression. just because i don't have uploads or subscriptions doesn't mean i have musical knowledge. i have played this piece and heard it performed by several different people. it is a pretty tough piece for an intermediate player from a technical standpoint, and i did compliment her technique, so don't say it's an "idiot comment"

i actually saw dominique at a state competition once...i thought she looked familiar, and i saw her wearing that dress, and then i heard her play faure for the competition. and then when i went home, it hit me...that it was THE dominique kim. she actually asked me for the time, haha :) obviously, she placed and i didn't.

Thanks for posting. ALL instruments are beautiful. The flute is so sweet. And she breaths perfectly so that it doesn't sound choppy. I've heard choppy flute players, but she isn't one of them. lol

And most importantly, the last note of the piece(E)! Don't be so kind on that E... it's the finale, just blast that note out, again with a good vibrato! During the piece, there were few breathing issues where she breathed at somewhere she shouldn't... kind of disconnecting the piece little bit. If she can work on the breathings, vibratos, and dynamics, she will be able to master this piece! By the way, she's improved a lot on her double tonguings!

In the second movement, again, technique was amazing. However, at the end, when starting at the high notes(A, G# and G) and coming down, don't shorten the hight notes. Make it little longer, louder, and make sure you support that as well with a good vibrato. I would like to see you be more expressive at the middle part of the second movement(the most beautiful line), where it gets slow little bit, again with a good vibrato and dynamics.

Technically it's excellent! She's improved a lot compared to the last video that I watched(Mozart Concerto). I myself played this when I was 12 years old so it's really nice to see her play it. For the first movement, I see more dynamic changes than last time but it would be nice to see some more dramatic changes being made! Not only the dynamics, vibrato can also change the whole colour of the piece. Especially when going into climax, try to get fast and powerful vibratos.
