@GoGoPowerRangers9000 - I have absolutely nothing against the U.S. but tried to correct an idiot. I even owned a house in Fort Myers Beach. I simply stated that I now vacation in the Philippines and other places are they are less dangerous and people show respect to my wife when we are out having a drink. This is no longer true in the U.S. - or England for that matter.

I absolutely loved key west!! I went on my honeymoon there! We spent 6 days there and didn't even get close to doing half the stuff you can do there! Great vacation spot!

Stopped going to America as beaches and bars always full of drunk losers that want to start a fight or hit on your wife. Try the Philippines they are great people and much better beaches and cheaper.

FEW people go to Key West for its beaches.. Dont get me wrong,. I LOVE Key West! While in Key West however I would HARDLY recommend smathers as being the top beach.. Fort Zachary taylor park, in my opinion is way better than smathers!

I live here so i'm here much more than 2 times a year and trust me...the beaches are far from amazing. unless of course you think it's amazing to have a bunch of drunk bums fighting and bothering you for beer money or ocean water contaminated by Ecoli and rocks under your feet instead of fine sand.

well we have o ocean around us here in ontario. Also the local beaches are dirty, ecoli, polution and there not an ocean just dirty water. BUms? they are verywhere.... The gulf or mexico??? wow, so nice, and Bia hinda beach, wow, sorry man but we drive 27 hours twice a year to stay in keywest and drink and lay on the beach. Got any suggestions since you live there? we are comming down for fantacy fest. we leave in 5 days

@XKEITHNJX never what you imagine it to be-- I guess it's old hat if you live there - Of course you'll probably find what you describe at any popular beach in Cal or Fla- I would love to visit Key West and hang out with the flavor that I assume it has --  NYC isn't paradise but it sure feels like it when you visit!- I would hope Key West wouldn't disappoint

I live in tampa and there are beaches very similar if not better in st. petersburg and around there. i dont have to go all the way down to key west to get the same thing

After 10 of living in Key West I can say that is a Spring Break shot if I ever saw one. We don't normally have THAT many people on the beach, except during spring break.... but then again whats wrong with a lot of college hotties in bikinis. DUH NOT A TING MAN!!
