This is what I like to call ''vintage on vintage.'' A number that was vintage to 1928 recorded using a modern process and played on a modern phonograph which are now both vintage themselves.
I love this! I am fortunate enough to own a copy of this record. I think the flip side is "Banks of the Wabash?" Another favourite of mine. I am also blessed to own a little table top phonograph. Of all the records in my collection, this is one of my favourites.
Just2w4tch, A good acoustic portable can be had fairly cheaply on E-Bay. That's where I got most of my phonographs, but not this one. This one came from a friend-Thanks Adam! Regards, J.
No voltage pier.. It's a purely mechanical phonograph. It has a spring motor like a clock and the sound is created simply by the vibrations of the needle in the groove of the records amplified by a horn inside the case. Regards, J.

Superb recording! This one was one on my upload list too; this time, however this time my copy runs faster (2:47 for the complete song).

I have an acoustically recorded copy of the record, also by the Shannon Quartet, on Victor 19336, recorded in April, 1924.
