Thanks so much for posting this. The band that will always be the most important for me in a life full of music. Somewhere in an attic in London I have every vinyl they every released and two copies of several just in case. And listening to a couple of tracks has sent shivers down my spine all over again.
Now I need to track down a good copy of the John Peel broadcast live from Manchester Apollo in - 1982?

@jamiebsas Is that the one with live versions of horseplay, love is as and another I can't remember,if so,get in touch with me,would love to hear them again :)
@bromodomain, yes Imperial was a bit straight laced if I remember right. You can hear a live version of 'Lost In Music' recorded [in the audience] at The Ritz in Manchester on the passage website -

I've posted a poor quality clip to go with 'drugface' on here.
@joethebuffalo I remember a gig you did at Imperial College in the early 80s. As a big Passage fan, couldnt really believe you'de pitched up there, but a great gig. I remember an encore that was a version of Sister Sledge's Lost in Music - typical Passage, thundering percussion, Dick's swirling synth lines, Andy sawing away at the guitar. Thanks for the music! xXx
The Passage were a bit difficult to get into at first, but once you've given these songs time, they're in your head for life. Now as I walk down the street, my brain repeats to me the lyrics of 'The Half of It: Twats'.
On this track Taboos, the lyrics are sublime and hilarious, and the instrumentation is unique. Someone playing bells and gasometers. Monumantal.
Went to school with Andy Wilson and bought the ep back then. Left it at my girlfriends when we split up in 86 and hadn't heard it since - I still love it! Thank you hanman1!
I LOVED this band - Even named my tiny CHCH NZ Based tape label after them. Pity there's no actual live video of them here on Youtube - they get a pretty positive writeup in Simon Reynolds Rip it Up And Start Again
Damn i'm glad I found this. Come from Denmark and 20 years ago I bought a LP on a 2. hand marked The Passage "Pin Drop", and i've been looking for them ever since, but never found anything.
Is it possible to get records on CD and do you know how many records they made??
'XOYO' was a good song and should have been a hit. The production on this sounds a bit muddy by comparison, goes on far too long as well. Interesting band though.
Time to reform The Passage.

Happy days, yes the productions 'muddy' but the song is years ahead of it's time. Bloody genius, time for a comeback?

we recorded a 30min live set for tv in munich in 1983 but we've never managed to track down a copy of the film. it's out there somewhere.
we watched some of the recording on the night, it looked and sounded great.
