Its so sad people do not take so much time to appreciate music the way it should be. with voice now everyone is auto tuned and junk. this is truly beautiful music
fantastic to hear this performed with male voices, as it should be, but i cant understand why theyve raised the 4th when coming to the half cadence (0:46)... the 4th wouldve remained constant to the key...
The picture is quite lovely, and you can tell they haven't yet come to the realism era in art to draw dementions, but the music is very soft pitched and the dynamics are very beautiful.

There's so much space in Josquin's music, like the vast inner space of a cathedral. I don't know how he does it; it's awe-inspiring.

does anyone know what key this wonderful piece is in?

@aragornkid
This predates modern tonality. It is not "in a key," but there are elements present which let us know that tonality is coming in the future.

It would if it had a key...
However, it's modal music. Dates back to 1520; they hadn't invented tonality yet.

And thanks to St. Thomas Aquinas for writing such a lovely them that allowed Josquin the freedom to write such a beautiful yet cohesive mass.
