seriously. if you put about2-3 cups of pebbles in your guitar it adds natural reverb reflection. You can carefully move them around to suit your guitar and then record with a new sound. People who don't have easy access to quality rocks can still simulate the effect by shifting to a different tonal position with their right hand.
Thats stupid.... Obviously the first take sounds a little muddy and lacking because its in a lower tuning. E-standard naturally sounds brighter because strings are usually gauged perfectly to sound best in that tuning. Also, I don't hear much of a tone difference. If the bass is boosted, who cares? Usually a lot of the bass from acoustic guitar is cut from the mix for the sake of other instruments.
Better without it. The O-port strips the guitar of its character. And of course endorsers of this product thinks its a "winner." The loser here is guitar makers. A Gibson guitar does not sound good enough without a round funnel shaped peice of plastic. Give me a break!
Didn't help that the 'without' part guitar's tuned down a semi-tone, whereas the "with" it's at concert pitch. Perhaps they should've held off the plonk till they'd done.
IMHO it sounded warmer/richer without the O-Port, a bit cleaner/clearer with it fitted - I preferred without.
I have one in my Gibson 'Roy Smeck' (mainly to help deal with feedback & protect edge of the soundhole). It gives a deeper/tighter bass, not too bright. Mine sounds better with the O-port. Very glad I tried one.
@AbrahamVanHasselhoff - I play classical guitar, and I see no videos posted of anyone trying an o-port in one. So, I ordered one and I will be posting my own video soon. I'll try it both on my Ramirez and Cordoba.
I have an O-Port in my Jasmine s34c but I liked your guitar WITHOUT the O-Port better. I may take mine out and listen to it again. I forgot what it sounds like without it. It may totally depend on the guitar it's installed in.
Honestly... I prefer the guitar without the O-Port; much more natural... NATURAL, its important.

Sounds Better Without!

It sounds more clean but it sounds less natural and almost muffled to me. No better or worse, just different.
