Not sure how many of you listen to j. tillman's solo work (drummer/singer of this great band) but I did a cover of one of his songs, if anyone has nothing better to do, and that's really the only reason you should waste your time watching it, you might could give it a view and let me know what you think. Thanks a lot!
Can't believe this was three years ago, I was in junior high for gods sakes. This band is a piece of wonderful things that don't belong on this rotten earth. I thank these men for saving me during those horrible days.
I saw them last night at the Tower in Philly and of their many stellar songs this one was a special treat for me. It's difficult to describe how moving their sound is live; the quiet to powerful dynamics in this song really illustrate that. At last night's show when the song builds (at 59 seconds on this video) I was enthralled by the sheer power and beauty of the bass and drums (and guitars) under Robin's compelling voice. This video is nice, but you just had to be there. Goosebumps! Thanks FF!

A british band that you might like that are similar to Fleet Foxes are called The FOSSIL COLLECTIVE. Go and check out the video for On and On. Its very good. Bye Bye xx
I really like this group. Their harmonies are somehow reminiscent of the Beach Boys , but with a more ancient madrigal kind of sound. Or maybe I'm crazy.
I must say that this band it seems that had to be playing at the same time with the start of Rolling stones & the Beatles !!!! Quite unique to hear such a nice music that still travels you far beyond today to tomorrow and past !!!
i searched for this song because of the perfect marriage of that episode and this song. between putting engineer's home as the new opening song, passion pit's moth wings on episode 2, and now this, well, season 4 has earned the best play list thus far award.
It's about time for the musical cycle to reach that point again. There is a new sound out now that pulls from the classics. I'm very excited for the next 3 years as far as music goes, especially being from a country where there is an emphasis on being pretty and making terrible music to shake your ass to.
@nignigwig, Well said. Fleet Foxes are just awe inspiring to me. I can barely wait for their next release. Have you heard Sea Wolf or Mid Lake? Your last sentence to LordBottleTop hit the nail on the head. The number one music retailer in America is Wal-Mart. That speaks volumes about how BAD American's taste in music is.
Fleet Foxes, are definitely one of the best bands out there today. So amazing, if anybody else here likes them, you'll really appreciate this video below.. Great band as well
Their sound is good, and sort of unique. Good production. A little anthemic. Someone said there's a lot of 60's sounds in their music. I hear Creedence & Crosby Stills & Nash, and I also hear a lot of U2, but the vocal harmonies are sweetly devotional. Sort of sounds the same after 3-4 songs, though.
@catkin0 Yeah, I never really listened to folk music until about a year ago. These guys are amazing. Now I can't stop listening to them, Neil Young, and Bob Dylan.
That isn't their regular guitarist. He must have been on vacation or ill or something. Saw them last week and they were awesome. Great band. A true gem.
All of the band members in this video are the current members of Fleet Foxes. The 3 on guitar have all undergone pretty major hair re-do's, maybe that's what's throwing you off. The bass player's grown his long, the other two chopped theirs short.

Why the hell didn't I get into Fleet Foxes earlier!? Long ago a coworker recommended them to me and I was just like, 'Meh.' After hearing "Blue Ridge Mountain" on the radio this morning, I am now a fan.
It's nice to hear some sweet harmoninzing for a change. Most current bands do not do more than 2 part harmony. I think that's what gives this 'another era' sound.

As you lay to die beside me, baby

would you wait for me?
I think line 2 sounds more like:
**on the morning that you came**
