  • Gorgeous--thanks for posting!!

  • Thank You morigue....for all your efforts uploading. These people are and absolute joy to watch and listen.

  • @obbm2232 One, nothing's perfect. Two, they aren't trying to make it better. They're making it their own. They add in different things because they want to play them, not because they want to make the piece better. They didn't improvise it to death. They made it original.

  • Go Donnell!

  • I play this tune on a regular basis with my band, and I took a couple of Donnell's licks and they work really well when placed strategically with in the tune. The only thing I don't do anymore is play it @ 100 mph.

  • My God All Those Lahey Sisters Are Soooooooooo Beautiful.......XOXOXOXOXOX!

  • They are definitely very virtuoso. BUT-BUT-BUT why any musician thinks he or she can improve on perfection is beyond me. They improvise it to death. Irwin T. Rouse wrote this song as perfection. No one should try to improve it.

Wynton Marsalis and many lesser musicians do the same thing to "Carnival of Venice". It is perfect as written, why try to showcase your talent by ruining a masterpiece.

  • @obbm2232

It's called interpretation. It's called "having fun". All musicians understand that. That's why they play.

  • Awesome, and such a great job on a classic country music tune. I have to see these folks in person some day. They are amazing!

  • Wow...better even than Doug Kershaw's version. 10's across the board, even from the East German judge!

  • SUPER

  • I saw them in oregon and marin county,,talk about "HIGH ENERGY",,watching them perform goes beyond adrenalin,,no need for coffee here,,waiting for their return to the bay area

  • magnifique ! j'aimerais bien vous sponsoriser !

  • Great version! But why is the drummer behind a protective screen? :P

  • @nosecone5921 He's behind a sound baffle so his drum kit doesn't overpower the other instruments & get picked up by any fiddle mics :)

  • @nosecone5921 To protect the other musicians from losing their hearing!

  • Simply amazing!!

  • I saw him play this live, fatest Orange Blossom Special I've ever heard

  • Wow!

  • that's what you get when you mix speed and finest

  • i can not believe how insanely fast he goes and accuately. i bet he is one of the best fiddlers ever

  • Mighty fine. Bought their dvd the first time I heard them.

  • My favourite version of Orange Blossom Special has always been by 9 Year Old Fiddler - Mikayla Roach - until now. Leahy's version has blown me away. Not just because of his playing, and he is fantastic. The whole band are just tremendous!

  • There is NOTHING like seeing them do this (or anything else) live.

  • I consider myself a pretty good fiddler, and I can easily play OBS, (not this version though)

I saw them live, someone beside me said "not bad, could be better" I nearly hit him in the face.

This guy is a GOD, I still don't know how he plucks "Devils Dream" WITHOUT his bow hand and at an insane speed at that. With the bow is easy but without? All I can say is WOW.

  • OMG it's Orange Blossom!

i've been playing this song for years!

i simpler version though of course XP

  • this man is unbelievable!!!

  • Where did you find sheet music for fiddle?

  • AWESOME! I just learned this song on fiddle and it's insane!!! haha... making it *your own * is a challenge too! with so many wonderful fiddlers out there!
