as a defensive back lined up right across from a reciever, you have the bump zone [starting from the line of scimmage ending 5 yards in front of it]. in that space, pushing is allowed. use it to get a reciever off rhythm. beyond that, stay as close as possible to the reciever without interrupting their route. if you physiclaly get in their way, that's defensive pass interference. this is all assuming you're playing man coverage.

@TheSteelers0 Yeah, try to find some sort of hill you can run on, just sprint up it, then jog down, do about 10 of those, then 10 more, then as many as you can, that should help out on speed. Your gonna need a lot of speed man trust me, just try to workout your legs a lot, hit the gym atleast 3 times a week

The game goes by at such a fast pace its crazy. I was in shock to see what those athletes could do. And I have been watching football my whole life. Go to a NFL game, than come talk.

This is because the sport is so high paced. Sure, only 11 minutes of play time, but those 11 minutes are all as intense as it gets. As for a sport's eligibility to be in the Olympics, nobody cares. The NFL is already as big as can be. The Superbowl is practically a holiday here.

It can get rough, but there are way to many cry baby floppers especially over in the European and South American Leagues. The English Soccer Premier League and MLS can be rough, but they no where near approach rugby or football. Soccer is a great game to watch though. The EPL and Champions league are my favorite sports leagues to watch outside of college football.

@DaBusDriva92 Rugby is tougher than football, but soccer is kind of a pussy sport. It can get rough, but there are way to many cry baby floppers especially over in the European and South American Leagues. The English Soccer Premier League and MLS can be rough, but they no where near approach rugby or football. Soccer is a great game to watch though. The EPL and Champions league are my favorite sports leagues to watch outside of college football.

@eskimobronco yeah, you're right. There are a lot of floppers, and players tend to exaggerate fouls. But there's not doubt some fouls are extremely hard, and also that "faking" some fouls has become part of the game. And you have to be tough to be one of the best players in the world: Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo take a lot of physical contact, and those who criticize Ronaldo of being a cry baby, ahve to watch his game a lot closer and see how much they hit him

@CLumz100 lol i play both football and basketball i guess you are right i never thought of it like that but football is a lot easier then basketball. football only requires a lot of intense athleticism in short burst unless your a quarterback there is no need to think at all only to execute what you are told. basketball takes more practice, skill, endurance and thought then football does

@CLumz100 Not a real sport? All they do is stand around? Have you ever even seen a game of American football in your life? It's a game of strategy and execution. Players put it all out on the line every play. It takes tons of training and discipline. Only the best of the athletes can even make it to college football. I can understand if you don't like the sport, but if you think it isn't an athletic sport, you are one ignorant little person.

the thing about the stemming, is that a good DB will know r going to do that. u gotta make every rout look the same. if u cut hard enough, u dont need to stem.
and if ur playing outside WR then stemming will only work for a few yards.

By your theory of fully descriptive sport names (i.e. footlongball), football/soccer should be called play-with-feet-ball. What other sport is given its name by what physical part of your body you play it with? Anyways, my point is that it's ok to call both sports football and it makes sense in both contexts, but those who are ignorant about the origin of the name should not comment on what they dont know.
