I know someone commented that the one hand thing is so that the electricity goes to your feet if you get shocked, but I believe it is more specifically so that electricity doesn't flow from hand to hand and travel through your HEART (because that is how people could end up being killed) Apparently it is enough power to stop your heart but, not quite powerful enough that it jump starts it. What I heard anyways. Also, I can only keep track of one hand at a time...
The idea of using 1 hand only is mainly because a hand-foot shock is less dangerous than a hand-hand shock; but also because if you're isolated from the ground (e.g rubber soled shoes), you may not even get shocked at all if only 1 hand is touching the high voltage as you're not giving any path to ground, but rubber shoes won't help if you've got both hands in there. Back pocket is good because it helps u resist temptation/forgetfullness to stick in the free hand.
Hey, just curious, can I have 6 magic eye tubes on a tube stereo AMP? 3 per channel, one for bass, one for treb, and one just for overall output? How many tube amp would I need to make to get the seperate treb and bass control? Would this amp that I want to make be suitable for like some speakers and any input other than a guitar? Any ideas on a schematic? Sorry for so many questions, it is just, you are a profesional :) I'm sure that I could pull this project off, this is second nature :)
Great video. Andy474x is right though. The reason for keeping one hand in your pocket is in case you do take a shock, your heart is not in line of the path of least resistance -in one arm, through the chest, and out the other.
Wow, thanks for mentioning me in the video, and thanks for the info!!! :) That was awsome, I had to back it up to make sure that I heard right LOL Always watching out for some new vids, and that is a very nice amp you have made there :)
That amp looks SWEET. The VVR is especially exciting. PS... I don't know a lot about working on amps, but I have heard that keeping one hand in your pocket protects your heart from electrical shock - if your other hand is touching something, current can be grounded by traveling from one arm to the other, of course crossing the heart. Just what I heard. But, that is just boring compared to the Stinger!
I think this amp is a badass idea. I'm looking forward to hearing the demonstrations of the finished amp. And how much this thing is going to cost me.
@antihax91 Not sure yet - but I'll tell you that the bare bone version (aka the version with no FX Loop, Footswitch or Power Amount) will be very attractive (I still need to add up the numbers through).
