I am pro-choice, but I want to reduce the number of abortions, so I want to reduce the number of unplanned pregnancies, so I want to make birth control more widely available and affordable, so I support Planned Parenthood's efforts to do exactly that. I occasionally donate a (very) little money, but more often I buy condoms, take them to their health centers and donate them.

Let's treat the problem, not the symptom.

What do pro-life people do to reduce the number of unplanned pregnancies?

@dlaz0109 they aren't people, not until born and viable on their own. As for laws in other nations- that is not the law we have here. Here, a fetus is not a human person.

Roe v Wade is 37 years old this month. Just 15 years ago 56% of our country was pro-abortion and 33% were pro-life. Now, in 2011 the majority of people in our country are pro-life. More than a 17% shift in understanding. In 35 states there are fetal homocide laws that treat the unborn child as a human being. In 25 of those states (that's half of our country) the child is considered a human being at conception. Those laws didn't exist before Roe v Wade.

The medical research in European and American medical journals are now conclusively reporting that there is a heightened risk of preterm birth after an abortion, a heightened risk of drug and alcohol abuse, a heightened instance of suicide and psychiatric admission, and a heightened risk of violent assualt after abortion. Even on MTV's "16 & Pregnant" and 16 year old pregnant motherm, who was considering an abortion, lashed out at her boyfriend who called the baby in her womb, "a thing." She responded, "This can turn out like that." (pointing to her baby sitting next to them). "Nothing but a bunch of cells can be her." The University Hospital in Wisconsin no longer performs abortions because so many of the medical staff refuse to participate.

The supreme court last year ratcheted up requirements for informed consent with the majority opinion writing, "Respect for human life finds an ultimate expression in the bond of love the mother has for her child." The tide is turning. More and more are coming to understand that these babies are alive and have certain inalienable rights - especially the fundamental right to life. ( these stats were taken from World magazine Januarry 29,2011 edition.)

There is NO "sanctity of life. Lay a new baby that no one knows was born, in the desert...it dies. Where was there sanctity in that life? There was NONE! It was no more special then that of the dead rat beside it. a sancitified life comes from being wanted, loved, guided, and given all the things a child DESERVES.

thanks for speaking your mind and for hearing a bit of mine too...i hear your concern and think it's misguided at least at a couple of points. To answer your question, 1) YES, i am for having ALL babies, whether their mother "wants" them or not. Does someone wanting YOU validate YOUR existence? 2) People don't OWN people. That's called "slavery" if i'm not mistaken. 3) There are thousands that are looking to adopt "unwanted" children - abuse or abortion are not the only options.

Great video! We've about 40 million babies since Roe was passed. Just think we have lost all of what those 40 million unique people might have ever created or done. There are great masterpieces that will never be created in the realms of literature and music and art, ect. It would be sad, but poetic justice nonetheless, if the cures to many of our dreaded diseases were lost along the way...

Half of the text in this is wrong. Plus, there is A LOT more to consider during abortions than just "taking away life". Fetus's do NOT have rights; they do not have feelings, nor the capacity to feel. Think about more before you just say "stop abortions."
