I noticed recently nVidia bypassed the 300 and have named the public distribution of Fermi as the 400 series (480, 460 I think). There was some speculation to why skip the 300?
It would be handy to employ the 300 for Fermi that are muzzled enough to please the marketing clowns for a round of comparisons of performance per price. I would hope that true competition is at work and not just a case of under the table footsies with AMD.
HD5870 x fire. i think price will be this cards biggest failure, it's been in production for a long time and there was problems with the production line meaning this will cost more. the cost effective way for people who bought a Ati HD5000 series would be to buy another rather than pay loads for an extra
That or a 5850, go for it. There's no telling when nvidia will release this card, and how much it will affect the price of the 5800 series, but a 5770 should treat you nicely.
That is the SCHEDULED date, to me that's not much more than a "maybe", I'm hoping they can get it out soon though and see how it matches up next to the 5870s
u wouldnt know. i bet they will cost abit more then the 5870.probably almost as much as a 5970 im beting some where 550-600 canadian. and it only gets 5 more FPS then my 5870. and by the looks this thing is going to be a power bitch. needing a 8 pin and a 6 pin for its performance dosnt seem worth it.
thumbs up if you have a big dick
