honestly I prefered tiger before, but when considering more I realized that lions have the socially behaviour so may be they have more feeling than tiger, such as love and loyalty ( they love human who care about them), but tigher is contrast because they live and hunt independenly. I am not an expert, I have seen too many videos half of them trying to prove tigers superiority over lion and half of them the opposite. All this debate made me came to the conclution that all those people can't be completely wrong, everyone holds some part of the truth and the truth is that those people are so divided because of the fact that the truth that is in the middle which means that judging from the arguments of each side I result in that lion and tiger are completely equal in might.

Tigers avoid fighting, because an injury would disable it's ability to hunt, therefore it would die of hunger. A male lion's job is to fight, he will always have lionesses to hunt for him. I have to admitt I prefered the last half of the video. It's a dream of mine to cuddle with lions like that, although once when I was little I remember feeding a lion cub milk through a bottle at Sun City in South Africa. It still had it's eyes closed so it was probably recently born.

The don't go on several hour hunts, if they did they would be designed less bulky.

The difference between the is not the weight, its that the tiger is a solitary animal and Lion isn't. The lion has more ferocity and wont escape conflict, whereas a tiger will. But Amur tigers are known to kill siberian bears that can weigh 1000 or more. Lion attacks recklessly in sense too and a tiger always tries to avoid damage.

honestly I prefered tiger before, but when considering more I realized that lions have the socially behaviour so may be they have more feeling than tiger, such as love and loyalty ( they love human who care about them), but tigher is contrast because they live and hunt independenly. From that aspect, I turn to love Lion : Powerful but lovely :)

I am not an expert, I have seen too many videos half of them trying to prove tigers superiority over lion and half of them the opposite. All this debate made me came to the conclution that all those people can't be completely wrong, everyone holds some part of the truth and the truth is that those people are so divided because of the fact that the truth that is in the middle which means that judging from the arguments of each side I result in that lion and tiger are completely equal in might.

A video with two male lions killing two buffalos each on their own in front of the herd. You say it like lions can't hunt their alone. Lions live in prides because like people, they need social needs. Also their prey are faster so teamwork pays off. The males are protectors with their manes, and females do the hunting.

@667Abaddon One more thing. There was a documentary about a lioness whom was the last lion in a certain part of Africa. Everyday she hunted and did just fine. A lioness can easily bring down a larger water buffalo. The problem was she suffered from isolation issues. She followed the human who filmed her because he was the only thing keeping her company. Point is, unlike the tiger, lions live in prides for social needs like people as they are the only family oriented cats.

I've also seen a video where a small grizzly bear, or whatever it was( they claimed it was a grizzly but it was small and brown) beat a full grown tiger. See I was watching videos of lions vs hyenas as groups and the hyenas beat the lions. Tigers are not bigger, tigers and lions both are roughly around the same size ranging from 5ft to 9ft (this is the whole body with the tail for both of them). Lions weight between 330 lbs up to 500lbs, and tigers weigh between 240lbs up to 500lbs. Tigers don't have more power. The lions have a main which protects their neck and even the lionesses have a big of it, not as much as males. whereas tigers have nothing at all. The only way a tiger would win if its either coz of stealth or coz of age.

Tigers avoid fighting, because an injury would disable it's ability to hunt, therefore it would die of hunger. A male lion's job is to fight, he will always have lionesses to hunt for him. I have to admitt I prefered the last half of the video. It's a dream of mine to cuddle with lions like that, although once when I was little I remember feeding a lion cub milk through a bottle at Sun City in South Africa. It still had it's eyes closed so it was probably recently born.

ok first of all the majority of the fights you showed the tiger was always up against 2 sometimes 3 or more lions and was holding them off and not only that which tigers are we talking about a bengel tiger or a Siberian tiger because the Bengel is smaller than the Siberian. Plus you have to think about the lifestyles of both cats the male lion is lazy rarely hunts and has little to no stamina while the male tiger lives most of it's life alone hunts alone they even hunt brown bears!

@meandwot I don't talk about Darwin, huh, lions have done very well at Everland, there is a Korean person who translated some of the videos and, they said that the lions have dominated Everland, and tigers are afraid to fight them. You don't understand, tigers are like over sized house cats, they don't have the pride and bravery and honor a lion has, they don't care to run away from a fight if they can avoid one, lions are completely different and are more like dogs.

@meandwot Also don't just look at wiki answers, anyone can update that, I just read from a zoologist on an article on tigers, that the lion is more aggressive and tougher. They also explained the tiger can have an over heating breathing problem that effects it in a fight. lions have more stamina and some times go on hunts for hours, tigers kill there smaller prey very quickly with in seconds. The don't go on several hour hunts, if they did they would be designed less bulky.

@meandwot Also as well as the lions do at Everland the lions they have there are not very big, there rather small compared to all the bengal/ Siberian hybrids. The korean's worship the tiger, there may be videos of lions killing tigers that they wont show. I saw one btw, to young lions killed a tiger. Also there super big star tiger Hobbi, who looks part Siberian, was btw killed by a lion. Beatty said he lost many tigers over the years to lions, and he seemed to have felt bad.

@Dalen77 Lets not forget a moor recent account this was in 2011 when a tiger killed a lion with 1 paw swipe. "Man, 2 Tigers and 10 Lions Battle in Cage } Circus crowds have ever tingled to the chilling thoughtt of a cage full of wild animals suddenly running amuck. It happened today with their trainer in with them and armed only with a chair. When the terrific battle ended, two lions were dead and tho traniner was unsethed."

@Oasisx99 Once again Dave Salmoni has never seen a lion and tiger fight so no he did not say a lion is usually victorious. As i said before the people that have seen the fights actual eyewitnessess state the tiger always wins and in some cases bullying has taken place. They have accidentally gotten into each others cages, and the tiger has killed the lion. As regard to their comparative courage in the presence of man, all evidence is in favor of the tiger.

@meandwot Salmoni has talked to the experts, hes worked with both cats as Roy Horn has as well, and they both say the lion is tougher, Salmoni has seen more fights then you'll ever see, and no trainer probably ever in this world has more experience dealing with big cats then Roy, again Roy Horn has said the lion is tougher then the tiger, which even if he meant mentally, then you can write that down has undisputed.

@meandwot Clyde Beatty was a trainer for both lions and tigers. He claimed that in fights between lions and tigers, 18 tigers died and only 4 lions. He had a lion named Sultan The First, and he beat all of his tiger foes. His entourage consisted of huge young animals so these tiger weren't pushovers.

@Kakorat009 Clyde beatty was a lion trainer who had other big cats his main focus was lions. Beatty stated he would never bet on a lion beating a tiger of equal size or greater he commented on how 1 of his tigers rex would fight up to 7 lions at once and win he commented on one occasion were 20 lions attacked 9 tigers and lost. What makes me laugh is lion fans sit their and state Beatty but this was a man who had his best lion killed by a tiger and refused to put another top lion against some

@Kakorat009 one elses tiger he only let his lions fight little samatran tigers and tigeressess. Sometimes the tiger holds off three or four lions and leaves the cage unharmed.

@vangsta12 Actually you're wrong, Amur Tigers are the biggest cat in the world males weighing over 800lbs. A fully grown male lion weighs about 500. The difference between the is not the weight, its that the tiger is a solitary animal and Lion isn't. The lion has more ferocity and wont escape conflict, whereas a tiger will. But Amur tigers are known to kill siberian bears that can weigh 1000 or more. Lion attacks recklessly in sense too and a tiger always tries to avoid damage.
