Man, he's RIGHT about computers/software...Trusting your trax to a PC is blissful ignorance at best...and madness at worst...It's dedicated all-in-one multitracks only for me.
some one please. i need answers. i need a recorder that can record my full band at once. (8 tracks for drum mics, at least 3 tracks for guitars, and 1 for vocals) is this recorder able to do that all at once? how many inputs are there for mics and guitars??????? please! someone help!
@Metallica7000o According to the video this thing only records 8 simultaneous... i think the korg D3200 will get you twelve at once.... but at several hundred dollars higher price point. If you looking to save money why not just use the 8 simultaneous tracks , record everyone with those just as scratch tracks , and then record your vocals,guitars/ bass instruments individually over again.. your going to want to avoid bleed over anyways right? this is what we do. only i use a korg d888
@jameshetfi Just to clarify ... when i was talking about scratch tracks.. we listen to the recording we did where everyone plays at once ... then we dump everything except the drum track and record clean versions over that.... its more fun than using a click track. The korg d888 is only 16 bit though... anything over 8 to 12 tracks at once and basically you will have to go with an all computer based set up instead of an all in once multitracker
Does anyone know the how the sound quality differs from these units compared to computer based program such as Protools? Is there a noticable difference? I only ask because the sampling rate is a little lower on these machines. But, I still have my cassette machines and am happy to use it, though I want to get into the digital realm. I have used Protool, but don't like mixing with a mouse (it is time consuming) and would rather use faders.
Was the sound recorded on his Tascam 2488? If so, don't buy one. Also who ever hired this guy as a regional sales manager should fire his ass since this video reflects very badly on their products. Only a fool would post something this bad to YouTube.
KICK ASS!!!

Can the 2488 neo record 8 tracks simultaneous at 24 bit? I'm about to buy a new multitrack and this is the deciding factor for me.
Also, which would you rather have? The Tascam 2488neo or the Zoom r24?

@satanicgrower Yes it does

@satanicgrower R24 I've heard uses WAV files, while the 2488 uses lossy compression. You'd have to research that though.
