The Caparo was set up as a race car so it wouldn't clear any speed hump so unfair comparison, not so with the Ultima which was driven to the test track. The Ultima is also a quarter of the price of the Caparo. The UItima could easily be made far quicker than the Caparo for another £10-20k or so, but I prefer the way the Ultima is affordable.
Its not actually the fastest anymore on episode 5 of season 10 the Caparo T1 set the road car record at 1:10.6, which appears to be about 3sec faster than the Ultima
All of Ultima's claims are unsubstantiated. They claim ridiculous performance for street tires. 1.176 sustained lateral g, on GS Fiorano Tires? Yeah right. Car and Driver already proved it does it can only do 0.98 g.
And how exactly is your claim substantiated!? All of Ultima's times/figures are overlooked and measured by independant adjudicators like Datron etc. Besides which I doubt you could beat a K'egg by 4.8 seconds if you couldn't pull that sort of Lat. G. I suggest you stop making unsubstatiated claims yourself before you accuse others of doing so!
yes, well said. It even has aircon for god's sake. There is a video on here of a Caterham CSR260 that beat the old record by 0.2 seconds... this smashed it by another 4.6 seconds which is just astonishing!
I don't think that is Michael Shumacher, he is a lot softer driving

but this is a road car, it was driven to the track, set the time, and was then driven back.
if this thing and a ferrari enzo were racing on this track, the ultima would lap the enzo every 12 laps!
